Mr. Michael Saffell
Director of Operations
The Harrison Hills Transportation Hub is located at 43044 Industrial Park Road in Cadiz Ohio. We are a team of 17 full time drivers, 2 bus aides, 2 mechanics, 1 maintenance and 1 Director of Operations. We are a consolidated county-wide school district which requires that our drivers cover a total of 2,422 miles daily. In all, our drivers make 672 bus stops and transport 943 students each day. Our transportation department is extremely efficient as 9 of our buses run double routes as they transport high school and elementary school students. All of our buses are equipped with video monitoring systems and two-way radio systems. We also rely on substitute drivers and aides to fill routes on a needed basis. If you are interested in applying to be a substitute driver or aide, please contact Mr. Ripley at 740-942-7850.
Driver Training and Recognition
Harrison Hills School Bus Drivers attend a yearly four hour pre-service training. Yearly, all drivers must pass a physical examination, hearing and drug test in order to meet the qualifications of a school bus driver. In addition, every six years drivers must attend and pass a twelve hour driver pre-service training as required by the State of Ohio, complete state required recertification requirement through a bus pre-trip inspection and driver evaluation through our district on board instructor. Before every trip, drivers complete a pre-trip inspection to ensure the bus is safe to transport students.
At this facility, we have the ability to house all of our district buses and service equipment. Here, our mechanics are able to service and repair most of the daily and yearly needs of our school bus fleet. With the construction of this facility in 2013, we are now readily able to complete all yearly inspections and unannounced spot inspections of our entire bus fleet through the State of Ohio Highway Patrol.
