New Facility Update

Harrison Hills City Schools New PK-12
Construction Update

• The new track surfacing is now complete and striping will occur new week. 

• Working on new building punch-list items which include but are not limited to furniture, technology, and minor touchups

• Performing lawn soil preparation and seeding

• Complete the fieldhouse brick veneer installation

• Installing fieldhouse plumbing and electrical

• Installing fieldhouse roof and exterior metal

• Poured the concrete bleacher pad and will begin bleacher installation on Tuesday

District Office

• Business Advisory Council met on 9/18/2019 to student discuss career exploration opportunities.

• Ohio Facilities construction Commission will hold their board meeting at Harrison Central on October 24th. at 11:00.

• The CORE team met and reviewed items needed completed at our new facility. 

• Continued planning with faculty for student services continues

• Professional development sessions were held onsite for faculty and staff

• Collaboration within special education for students in Grades PK-12 was a focus within the week 

• Mrs. Harding filed all final expenditure reports for all grants for the FY19 school year for the district.

• Permanent appropriations will be presented by the treasurer at the board meeting on Thursday night.

• Final change orders are being inputted by Hammond Construction in order for the treasurer’s office all expenditures to be encumbered and posted in preparation of closing of the building project in November.

Harrison Central Jr/Sr High

• Senior recognition at the last match of regular season!

• Army National Guard recruiter, Lance Delbrugge, spoke with the senior class.

• For Constitution Day, the Street Law class participated in an interactive constitution board game on our new smart board. They had to answer questions correctly to score points and move towards the winners circle. 

• This week was spirit week for homecoming. Wednesday was frat vs hillbilly.

• Homecoming Pep Rally was held for grades 3-12. 

• Homecoming Queen Lexi Carter and King Andrew Clelland with the senior homecoming court.

Harrison Central Elementary

• Caden Jenkins and Cecelia Gibson are addition and subtraction Fact Masters! They both got there at the very same moment! We use the program Mobymax to build our fact fluency.

• In recognition of Constitution Day, September 17th, 4th and 5th grades examined our country’s living document more closely and learned some interesting facts. Fifth grade classes even made tricorne hats that our Founding Fathers wore.

• Miss Jacobsen’s 1st grade students learned about characters and setting this week in reading. At the end of the week they made a character from their reading story then illustrated what they’d learned. 

• Harrison Central loves to celebrate positive behaviors! Spencer Hanson was recognized by his bus driver, Terri Wilson, for helping out!

• Preschoolers in Miss Ashley and Miss Dayna’s class showed their Husky spirit Friday! They have been learning all the school expectations and routines and have adjusted well to their first few weeks of school!!

• Harrison Central Elementary welcomed the homecoming court as they came and tattooed our primary classes. Students in kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades enjoyed interacting with high school royalty as they got their HC tattoo!
