New Facility Update

Harrison Hills City Schools New PK-12
Construction Update

• Lights were set at the Track and Field Complex

• Gutter work and facia placed on the field house

• Plumbing work continues in the field house.

• Director of Operations attended the new transportation supervisor training in Columbus, presented by OSBA.

• Continue with new building punch-list and added items of work as materials are available

• Performing lawn soil preparation and seeding

• Installing fieldhouse exterior metal trim

• Installing fieldhouse plumbing and electrical

• Installing stadium lighting

• Completed new track striping

• Begin remaining site concrete installation at the fieldhouse area

District Office

• Mrs. Snider attended the Cadiz Business Association meeting where discussion was held concerning the Cadiz Snowman display, Sally Buffalo Days, and the Holiday Parade.

• Board of Education and Administration attended Senior Project Presentations.

• Mrs. Snider attended the golf banquet held at Cadiz Country Club.

• Board of Education and Administration attended the band and choir concerts. 

• The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission previewed the building for the October 24th. OFCC board meeting that will be held in our senior government class. 

• Mrs. Clements made final arrangements and assisted staff for registering for the wellness screening held on October 14.

• Mrs. Harding attending K-12 financial seminar on October 7. Topics of discussion included foundation funding, Student Wellness Monies and four CPIM sessions.

• Mrs. Harding and Mrs. Trushel completed final expenditures for the MIECHV funding for Help Me Grow.

Harrison Central Jr/Sr High

• Congratulations to the football team for winning against St. Clairsville 42-35 and taking home to Coal Bucket for the first time in 10 years!!

• The football team was named WTOV 9’s Team of the Week.

• Jasmine Arnold was awarded Athlete of the Week, sponsored by 106.3 The River. Jasmine was OVAC 4A Cross Country Champion.

• Congratulations to Eric Leech for receiving All Academic Ohio and All Academic East Awards for Track and Field 2019

• 8th Grade STEM conducted an egg drop project.

• Tuesday night was Pink Out Night at the soccer game! Proceeds from raffles went to Harrison County Cancer Crusaders. The youth soccer teams were also introduced, with around 130 young players participating!

• HC Band Concert was Wednesday, October 10 at 7:00pm in the auditorium.

• Senior recognition night for volleyball was held before the game on Thursday, October 10.

• Geometry students using mathematical practices.

• High school students played with elementary students during recess.

• Choir Concert was held on Friday.

Harrison Central Elementary

• Facts are being mastered and personal records are being broken! These students are rock stars! Congratulations 2nd graders Braxton Nice, Dakota Price, and Chyanne Crothers. Anistyn Walters, Gage Giesey, Dalton Cumings, and Myah Bower all reached their AR goal of 25 points. Fifth grader Wyatt Cunningham also reached the 25 AR record!!

• It’s always great seeing the big guys spending time and tutoring the little guys!

• Preschool students are getting into the groove of school and how fun learning can be as Connor Coverdale and Blake Cogar are learning the letters in their names. While Jayce Tuttle creates Pete the Cat and Peyton Harvey reads to his stuffed-animal audience. 

• Mrs. Rocchi’s first grade Enrichment group walked to Puskarich Public Library to visit for their first trip. They will start making monthly trips to check out books and do some fun learning activities with Miss Ashley.

• Even the little guys got to get into the fun of celebrating the Coal Bucket returning to the Huskies!

• Fifth grade took advantage of the beautiful fall weather as they visited the Algonquin Mill Festival. They learned, shopped, and enjoyed all the sights and sounds. They experienced weaving, looms, knitting, hay rides, and a one-room school all from the “good ole days”. 

• Harrison Central loves recognizing positive reports! Great job Jensen Howell and Garret Wade for showing us the kindness is alive and being practiced in 3rd grade!
