Construction Update
• The hardwood is now going down in the main gymnasium
• Painting and installing ceilings in the elementary school wing
• Finishing drywall in the second floor of the elementary wing
• Installation of casework in the elementary school wing first floor
• Installing technology cabling in the elementary school wing
• Electrical wiring at the elementary school wing and musical area
• Installing wood gym floors
• Installing permanent flooring in the elementary school wing
• Installing exterior metal panels and trim at the student dining and high school wings
• Hanging drywall at the auditorium and arts area of the building
• Electrical, HVAC, and plumbing installations at the auditorium and arts area of the building
• Interior glass and glazing
• Installing exterior glass and glazing at the main street location
• Installing hollow metal and wood doors and hardware
• Installing exterior site concrete at the front of the building and preparing for concrete in the main parking area
• Installing site storm piping and structures
• Installing fieldhouse foundations
District Office
• Last week was Staff Appreciation week! Thank you to the staff for all you do for our students and district. Also thank you to the First Church of Christ for the dozen cookies for every staff member in the district. Your kindness is so appreciated.
• Mrs. Snider attended the Ascent well pad tour with students and an administrator from Harrison Central. As part of Ohio In Demand Jobs Week, the students were instructed on safety procedures, drilling operations, scheduling, and job opportunities for the gas and oil industry.
• Mrs. Snider attended the Band Award Banquet. Congratulations to the senior graduates.
• The superintendent attended the Senior Community Service Project Presentations. The students did a good job helping their communities.
• Mrs. Snider attended the Cadiz Business Association meeting where Cadiz City Manager Ted Andrzejewski spoke about projects for Cadiz.
• Mrs. Snider attended Harrison North's fourth grade Wax Museum projects. Each student selected a historical figure, researched this person, created a poster board, and dressed as their character. When you touched his or her hand, they spoke as the figure. Great educational project Mrs. Knight and Mrs. Agostini.
• Mrs. Snider is working with ODE in correcting a Preschool Special Education Profile Error.
• Interviews were held for a new K-12 Interventionist. The superintendent will be making a recommendation for hire at the May Board of Education meeting.
• An administrators' meeting was held at the new facility on May 10th. Members toured the facility, reviewed student drop- offs and pick-ups and coverage for these times.
• To date there have been 6 companies contact Mrs. Harding concerning bidding the plantings at the new facility. Bids are due May 20.
• Mrs. Harding has been working to complete the fiscal component of ESEA self survey report.
• Mrs. Harding and legal counsel have been working together concerning a public records request and sale of property.
• Mrs. Harding and Nutrition Group are working on the budget for the next fiscal year.
• Mrs. Harding, in cooperation with Hammond Construction, have submitted the next quarter’s drawdown of state funding for the building project.
• Financial information has been uploaded, various approvals processed and invoices paid via the OAKS system and the district’s financial system for the building project.
• Mr. Ripley held a bid meeting for bus drivers
• Mr. Ripley met with Harrison Community Hospital Representative Jeff Gadzik and School Resource Officer Bobby Brooks regarding safety at the new school site
• Thank you to Mr. Albaugh for getting tables and chairs to Harrison North for the Ruritan Banquet
• Mr. Ripley met with two possible new bus drivers
• Mr. Ripley had a meeting with Public School Works to plan next year’s safety training webinars for all faculty
• Mr. Ripley and Ms. Howes held a meeting with a United Dairy representative to coordinate milk deliveries for the new school
• Mr. Ripley met with an anonymous donor regarding a project for the new school
• Mr. Ripley coordinated with different companies on a bid project for the Stephenson Center
• Mr. Ripley communicated daily with Hammond and SHP on various projects within the new facility
