Miss Jacobsen’s class continued their pumpkin unit by learning what’s inside a pumpkin. Students each got a chance to dig through a pumpkin and sort the pulp and seeds.
Mrs. Jacobsen’s class also made a character from their reading story this week “Pig in a Wig.” They summarized the story using the somebody, wanted, but, so, then graphic organizer.

Jett Triplett reached our AR 25 Point Club! He received a certificate and a trip to our treasure chest for all his hard work. Jett loves reading! His favorite books are the Adventure Time series books. He would like to learn more about Native Americans.
Student teacher, Miss Kazmierczyk, guided our second grade class in writing their first narrative paragraph using the hamburger model for paragraph writing. The finished product was a entertaining narrative of what each student would do if they could hypnotize our principal, Mrs. McKinney. Miss Kazmierczyk assisted students in editing, adding adjectives, and using transitional words for their paragraphs. The students then illustrated their work.
We have another fact master in Mrs. Gaffney’s class! Vanessa Cottrell’s hard work brings us one step closer to our fact master pizza party!
Haylie Woods was given her gold medal and flying ninja for becoming a fact master in Mrs. Gaffney’s class!
