Huskies Talk Issue 14

Covid-19 Vaccinations will be administered February 4 to all interested employees. 

Mrs. Snider attended the elementary Spelling Bee. Congratulations to Joseph Taylor on his first place victory. 

The monthly administrators’ meeting was held. 

The Board of Education held a Special Meeting to revise the District Covid Start-up Plan. The board voted to allow students to attend five days a week. The plan can be adjusted if warranted. 

Collaborative review of student achievement scores

Annual reviews within special education were held.

Mrs. Harding has been in contact with Pay Schools and will meet with administration concerning expanding online payment of fees, admissions and fundraisers.

Mrs. Harding will meet next week with Strategic Solutions concerning scanning and storage of obsolete files as well as additional programs for further automation related to the payroll department.

Across the state of Ohio there has been a data breach causing fraudulent unemployment claims. The fiscal department has been keeping staff updated and answering questions.

Tablets from old high school are set. Work continues on softball field.

 

 

Boys’ Basketball vs. Olmsted Falls

On Saturday, January 16th, our varsity boys’ basketball team competed against Olmsted Falls at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although they fell short of a win, the score being 76-54, it was a memorable experience to play on such a well-known court. Senior Kobe Mitchell reached his 2,000 point mark as well. Congratulations Kobe!

District Spelling Bee

The District Spelling Bee was held in the auditorium on January 25, at 6 pm. Congratulations to the following students who are moving on to the Regional Spelling Bee on March 13th, with a chance to earn a spot in the National Spelling Bee. The students are as follows: front row from left to right: 2nd alt- Katie Cumings (5th), 1st Alt Chace Byers (6th), 8th- Lance Rupp (5th), 7th- Emma Palmer (5th), 6th- Ethan Carpenter (7th), and back row from left to right; 5th-Isabelle Brown (7th), 4th- Charley Miller (6th), 3rd- Joseph Taylor (6th), 2nd- Pierce Sobleski (7th), 1st- Mikiahla Davenport (8th). Senior Career Exploration

Service Learning seniors worked to complete a career exploration project to research in lieu of job shadowing for this school year. The students investigated career fields they were planning to enter and presented information to the class. Lexi Ferguson explained about the field of nursing after conducting research and interviews with current professionals.
