Huskies Talk Issue 16

Mrs. Snider, Mr. Parker, Mr. Dunlap, and Mr. Clifford assisted Ms. MacIntosh’s class with Senior Interviews. This first group of Seniors did an excellent job during their assignment. 

Mrs. Snider and Ms. Thompson attended the Zoom Family Children First Council meeting. A presentation was given on Human Trafficking. 

Collaboration with families and faculty on academic progress

Annual reviews within special education were held

Professional collaboration with the State Support Team was held

Mrs. Harding has been working with Ms. Howes to finalize information for the formal cafeteria review.

The treasurer’s office and Mrs. Trushel have been providing requested documents for the auditor of state’s audit for FCFC/HMG. Mrs. Harding was notified this week that the audit is almost done and will go for review.

Mr. Morgan and Mrs. Harding have adjustments ready for revised federal grants.
 

 

 

Varsity Boys’ Basketball

On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, the boys’ basketball team lost to Fort Frye with a score of 75-62 (left). A week after, the boys defeated East Liverpool on the 17th with a score of 66-60 (right). Congratulations to the boys’ team in bringing in another win.

Boys’ Bowling Sectional Champs

On February 13th , the boys’ bowling team bowled in the sectional tournament, where they were champions, allowing them to move on to districts (left). On February 19th, the boys bowled in the district tournament and placed 4th, which ended their season (right).

Varsity Girls’ Basketball Sectional Game

On Thursday, February 16th, the varsity girls’ basketball team played their sectional game against Sandy Valley. Unfortunately, this ended their season as they were defeated with a score of 52-51. Congratulations to the girls on a great season, ending with a record of 16-6.

Kobe Mitchell Leading Scorer

On February 17th, Kobe Mitchell set a Harrison County record during the varsity boys’ basketball game against East Liverpool. He scored 40 points in the game, giving the Huskies a 66-60 win. Kobe has 2,334 points in his career. He passed Jewett-Scio’s, Amie Marks.

Snow Day Activities

Mrs. Gaffney sent a message out to the parents of her students asking if they could try out some neat Snow Day activities. 

Vanessa Cottrell tried the Snow Volcano, Giant Marbles, and blowing bubbles.

Seth Bonebrake made Giant Marbles. This has been a special winter for this second grader! Seth came to us from Florida this year and got to see snow for the first time.

Fabulous in Fourth

Snow Day or E-Day? That is the Question! In writing class, students spent a few minutes working with partners to find supporting evidence for both snow days and e-learning days in preparation for their next opinion essay.

Fantastic in Fifth

Miss Bethel’s math classes got to enjoy “A Potting Adventure” recently. They virtually explored Hogwarts while completing tasks in different areas of the campus.
