As part of their study, they made a liquid rainbow. Pictured above are Connor, Miss Dale, Abby, and Jaydin showing off their artwork representing the liquid rainbow. Kicking It with KindergartenKindergarten finger painted silhouettes with Ms. VanCamp in art. This week in Miss Johnson’s Kindergarten class, students made “T is for Taco” booklets to go along with the letter of the week. Brian Gonzalez and Kenisha Bailey work hard on their handwriting skills, while Sara Wade shows off her completed project! Fun in FirstMrs. Turner’s class has been working through a pumpkin unit. They read Spookley, made square pumpkins, described pumpkins with adjectives, explored seeds and planted them. Check out all the neat pictures taken during the unit below. Mrs. Turner and student teacher, Aaron Foldi, also had a paint-n-sip with fall foliage and apple cider. The students enjoyed both greatly! Below are some pictures from that activity. Soaring in SecondPictured above is Chase Campbell. He was the first to complete Mrs. Gaffney’s fact master challenge in Mobymax! Way to go, Chase! Here are Jayce McAfee, Landon Coffman, Wyatt Zeroski, Everli Sall and Ashlee Eikleberry who all earned 100% on their Unit 1 Vocabulary Test in Mrs. McAfee’s room. Congratulations to Ashlee Eickleberry and Alyvia Bryant from Mrs. McAfee’s room who reached their AR goal of 25 points. Thriving in ThirdThird grade sadly bid farewell to Mrs. Carpenter’s student teacher, Mr. D with a pizza party and cake. Although he will be missed by 3rd grade, he will remain close by as he finishes his student teaching in the 5th grade. His future in teaching is very bright, and we wish him much success as he moves forward in his career. Third grade Social Studies students paired up to sort cards correctly into the three branches of our federal government. Fifth grader, Zoey Henry, is being recognized by Mrs. Barker for being responsible. Awesome job, Zoey! Fifth graders, Austin Utter and Katlynn Summers are being recognized by Mrs. Barker for being standouts in the classroom! Keep it up, you two! You make HC Elementary proud! Fifth grader, Morgan Fuller, is being recognized by Mrs. Pendelton for treating others with kindness. Great job, Morgan! Congratulations to sixth grader, Noah Thaxton, for his outstanding citizenship and to sixth grader, Mikayla Pelegreen, for being a star student. Mrs. Pendelton thinks you two are awesome, and so do we! Thank You!Miss Tipton’s kindergarten and Miss Tipton’s second grade were given water bottles for each student along with the teacher. The Tupperware water bottles were donated by the following businesses: Mary Piatt – Tupperware, Piatt Trucking, Stull Excavating, The Eric Watt True Heart Foundation, and Mary Kay- Jami Heavilin. The students were so excited to receive this generous gift! Other classes that received these water bottles are Mrs. Yeager- Kindergarten and Mrs. McAfee- 2nd grade.
