Harrison Central Marching Band “Lights Out Show”Friday night’s game against Indian Creek was the last home game of the season. The band and flag corp performed their colorful annual lights out show. Varsity Volleyball Falls to East LiverpoolOn Monday, October 11 the Huskies Varsity Volleyball team played at East Liverpool. They fought hard, but couldn't pull out a win. There were a total of three sets with scores: 25-12, 25-7, 25-12. The statistical leaders were MaKayla Dunkle with 10 kills, Maddy Butler with 12 digs, and Logan Johnson with 16 assists. - Kaily Banal Cross Country OVAC at CambridgeOn Saturday, October 9 the varsity girls and boys cross country team had their OVAC’s at Cambridge. The top three girls were: Gretchin Dulkoski with a 24:23, Maddy Edwards with a 24:27, and Grace Dulkoski with a 29:03. The top three boys were: Colton Howell with a 20:01, Charles Garbrandt with a 20:28, and Aiden Hayes with a 20:33. - Grechin Dulkoski Trigonometry Trip to the TrackOn Wednesday, October 6, students in Mr. Hlivko’s Scholars Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus class used their newly learned trigonometry skills to measure the height of the press box, scoreboard, and light poles at the track stadium, as well as, the width of the infield of the track. Four teams, each using a 25-foot measuring tape, a large protractor, and a dowel rod, determined the distances using trigonometry, then compared their results with the other teams. This was a great way to bring a classroom concept to a real-world setting! - Angi Ferri Junior Varsity Football at EdisonOn Saturday, October 9, the junior varsity football team traveled to Edison. Unfortunately, they ended up losing with a score of 30-5. Fortunately though, there are more games to come. - Kylie Richards Varsity Football Defeats EdisonOn Friday, October 8, the varsity football team played the Edison Wildcats, at home. The Huskies left the game very satisfied, winning with a score of 27-17. During the first quarter, the score was 13-0 and throughout we continued to gain points. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the score was 20-17. We ended the game with a huge win. Congratulations on the win of the homecoming game. - Jessica Waid Skeleton Lab with Miss TaylorOn Tuesday, October 12, students in Mrs. Taylor’s anatomy class began studying the skeletons. As a class, they reviewed all of the parts of the skeleton. Mrs. Taylor also walked around the room with separate bones and explained the different parts of the bones. After reviewing and studying all of the parts of the skeleton, the students took a test over the different regions of the body; the arms, legs, back, chest, and head on Wednesday-Monday. - Edwin Stringer Girls’ Soccer Defeats CoshoctonOn Monday, October 11, the girls’ soccer team traveled to Coshocton. The girls beat the Redskins with a score of 2-1. The first goals went to both teams in the first half, and we took the lead in the second half. - Georgia Cox Boys’ Soccer Falls to Beaver LocalThe Huskies suffered an unfortunate defeat to the Beaver Local Beavers on Tuesday, October 12. The score was 5-1. Jaydis Yoho was in the goal and had an amazing 9 saves. Ben Puskarich scored the Huskies one and only goal for the night. - Peyton Roski Mr. Yourkovich´s AP HistoryOn Tuesday, October 2, Mr.Yourkovich´s AP history class completed a project. Students grouped together in five different groups. Each one of the five groups represented a different country. Unfortunately, they lost 2-0, with scores of 25-8 in the first set and 25-12 in the second one. . - Nahia Ruiz de Alda Varsity Volleyball Victorious over Steubenville CentralOn Thursday, October 14 the Lady Huskies faced the Crusaders. The Huskies left with a win. They won in 4 sets. The Huskies won the first set 25-17, won the second set 25-21, lost the third 25-19, and won the fourth 25-18. The Huskies were led by McKayla Dunkle with 22 kills and six blocks, Logan Johnson had 30 assists, Maddy Butler had 22 digs, and Sarah Touville scored 12 points. - Madelyn Sedgmer Golf BanquetOn Tuesday, October 12, the golf team held their end of season banquet at the Cadiz Country Club. Senior Aiden Sliva finished his final season with the Huskies, after four years and there were six lettermen recognized. Congratulations to the Huskies on a great season! - Aubrey Wood Operation Christmas ChildOn Tuesday, October 12, Mrs. Wood and her French classes started a donation of toys to kids in French-speaking countries and kids around the world. Each student will write a letter in French to send to one of the children. If anyone would like to donate, please see Mrs. Wood or a French student. - Kaylee Vermillion Boys Soccer Falls to Tusky ValleyOn Thursday, October 14, the boys soccer team hosted Tusky Valley. Unfortunately, they lost with a score of 4-1. The boys soccer team record is now 5-8-1. - Aleyna Runevitch Varsity Volleyball Wins over TorontoOn Wednesday, October 13, the varsity volleyball team played their last home game against the Toronto Red Knights. The Huskies led the night with a 3-0 win. The set scores were 25-16, 25-20 and 25-15. McKayla Dunkle had 17 kills and 8 blocks, Logan Johnson had 27 assists, Maddy Butler had 25 digs and 20 points, and Danica Rensi had 11 points. - Trista Thompson College Speech ClassMrs. Brooks’ college speech class is putting together process speeches. The students will be demonstrating how to do something in a step by step process and speech. They will be teaching things such as; how to use chopsticks, how to build a computer, how to juggle, how to snare an animal, how to latin dance, etc. The class will also be participating in the activities taught. - Emily Davis 8th Grade Volleyball Finishes SeasonOn Saturday, October 9, the 8th grade volleyball team played their last game of the season, at Bellaire, against Barnesville. Though the girls’ fought hard, the overall score was 2-0. The first set ended at 25-19 and the second set concluded with the score being 25-21. - TyLynn Smith 7th Grade Volleyball Completes SeasonOn Saturday, October 9, to finish the girls’ season off, the Huskies 7th grade volleyball team went against the Beallsville Blue Devils, at Bellaire. The final score was 2-0, with the Huskies ending with a loss.
