Varsity Baseball Buckeye 8 Champions
On Friday, May 6, the Huskies varsity baseball team won the Buckeye 8 Championship. They played at home against Cambridge. Tre Rex pitched a complete game and the final score was 3-0. This was the first time in school history that the Huskies took home a Buckeye 8 Championship. Congratulations boys! - Kaily Banal Freshman Community Breakfast
On Friday, May 6, the freshmen class held a breakfast for resilient community members. The freshmen English teachers came together to create and plan this breakfast. The students began with a project that taught them about what resilience means. They created fliers and a presentation to show and present to the guests at the breakfast. They also created a capsule to bury at the school after they were done. Many students spoke at the breakfast saying how thankful they were that the community members were able to join them and how they have enjoyed this project. - Madison Angle Senior Service Learning Final Project Presentations
On May 6, the seniors presented their final projects for their service learning class. During service learning, seniors are expected to complete a community service project. This year, there were four groups giving back to the community. The group projects consisted of: collecting and boxing items to send to troops, a coin drive where the money went to purchase Christmas gifts through Job and Family Services, Stuff the Bus, hygiene and snack carts, along with a donation to the Blessing in a Backpack, a volleyball tournament to raise money and canned foods to donate to the Cadiz Food Pantry, and designing and donating of Christmas cards to area nursing homes. Congratulations to all of the seniors for successfully completing their community service projects! - Gretchin Dulkoski Varsity Track OVAC Finals
On Saturday, May 7, the varsity track teams traveled to St. Clairsville to participate in the 2022 OVAC 4A Finals. The girls’ team got 5th place overall and the final placers were: Danica Rensi 3rd place in High Jump, Nadia Tweedy 4th in the 400 meter dash, Gretchin Dulkoski placed 3rd in the 2 mile, the shuttle- hurdle relay team consisting of Julena Kovacik, Nahia Ruiz de Alda, Katherine Shearer and Grace Goudy placed 4th, the 4x200 meter relay composed by Nahia Ruiz de Alda, Grace Goudy, Kenzie Harbold and Nadia Tweedy placed 3rd and the 4x400 meter relay of Kendal Hercules, Danica Rensi, Kenzie Harbold and Nadia Tweedy placed 3rd. The boys’ placers were: Hunter Boals 3rd in Shot Put, Taylor Cope 3rd in discus, Hunter Bittinger 4th in the open 800 meter run and the 4x800 consisting of Sean Forrester, Colton Howell, Charles Garbarndt and Hunter Bittinger got 4th place. Congratulations to everyone on the successful day! - Nahia Ruiz de Alda Varsity Baseball Senior Night and Junior Varsity Baseball crushed Ridgewood
On Saturday, May 7, the varsity baseball team hosted TCC, winning 19-3. Before the game, the six seniors were recognized: Caleb Blawut, Jacob Mattern, Joneus Jones, Todd Stringer, Jonathan Vermillion, and Zane Zeigler. Leland Lopez started off pitching and in the last inning Jonathan Vermillion came in to finish the game. The game ended with all of the six seniors playing together on the field to celebrate senior day. Before the seniors were recognized, the junior varsity team hosted Ridgewood, winning 4-3. - Kaylee Vermillion Junior High Track OVAC
On Monday, May 9, the junior high track teams participated in the OVAC meet. The boys team placed 3rd overall, only 3 points away from getting 2nd place. Unfortunately, our girls didn’t place, but they gave it their best effort. Congratulations to both teams for their effort in the OVAC meet! - Georgia Cox Baseball Falls to the Red Devils
On Monday, May 9, the varsity baseball team traveled to St. Clairsville, while the junior varsity played them at home. After 6 innings, the varsity lost 10-0, and the junior varsity fell with a score of 11-3. - Kylie Richards College Decision Day
On Monday, May 9, all seniors were asked to wear shirts for the colleges they plan to attend. Alumni were welcome to participate by wearing shirts from the college they had attended as well. On Monday, May 9, the music department held their spring concert for Chorus, Bella Voce, and Select Choir. Chorus sang four pieces, while both Bella Voce and Select Choir sang five pieces. It was a wonderful concert to end the year! - Kaylee Vermillion Softball Defeats Ridgewood in Sectional Play
On Monday, May 9, the softball team hosted Ridgewood for the Sectional Semi-Final game. The girls took the lead quickly and kept extending their lead, ending with a score of 10-0 in 6 innings, with 5 of their runs being scored in the 5th inning. - Angi Ferri Varsity Baseball Victorious Over Toronto
On Tuesday, May 10, the varsity baseball team traveled to Toronto. The Huskies won 10-4, making this game their 15th win for the season. Great job boys! - Shyloh Utter Varsity Baseball wins against Toronto
On Thursday, May 12, the varsity baseball team hosted Toronto, winning 2-1. This was the teams final regular season game. They finished the season with an overall record of 16-8. Congratulations to the team on a successful regular season! - Cameron Aughinbaugh Spring Band Concert
On Thursday, May 12, all band classes, grades 5-12, performed many different songs for their final concert of the year. After the jazz band, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade all played two songs with the high school symphonic band. Following the combined band, the music boosters held a raffle giving away items. Since it was the last concert for the year, senior band members were recognized for the dedication including; Abigail Creamer, Mackinley Marshall, Edwin Stringer, McKenna Sullivan, and Devan Woods. - Edwin Stringer Softball Wins Second Consecutive Sectional Title
On Thursday, May 12, the varsity softball team hosted Union Local for the sectional final. The Huskies won 15-5, winning their second consecutive sectional title. Congratulations to the girls on their accomplishment! - Jaida Barber Ray Kroc Award Winners
Nicolette Peeler and Ben Puskarich were chosen to receive the Ray Kroc award this year. These students exemplify Scholarship, Leadership, Sportsmanship, and Community Involvement. 3RD grade BRAIDED pillows (Cursive Lettering)Students learned how to braid, write their initials in cursive, sew a running stitch and embellish with buttons. They also used the sewing machines to sew a border around their pillows and hand sew them closed. 
4th grade EMBROIDERED pillows/Wall hangingsStudents learned how to plan out a symmetrical design and use an embroidery hoop. They took notes in their art journals on how to sew the following stitches: running, satin, cross and straight. They were also taught how to sew on a button and beads and use the sewing machines.

STEAM IN THE ELEMENTARY ART ROOMStudents were given the task of drawing with their dominant hand as they watched a “How to draw” video from Art for Kids Hub. Students chose their object to draw and it was interesting, yet comical, watching students’ figure out how to hold the pencil in the opposite hand they’re used to using and their expressions…tongues hanging out, gripping the pencil like they were carving wood and the intense looks on their faces… LOL To add a higher level of thinking, I had students rotate their videos up-side-down and draw with both hands. The look in their eyes was priceless!
