Junior High Track OVAC

  


 


On Friday, May 5, the junior high track team traveled to St. Clairsville for the OVAC track meet. The boys’ placed 16th and the girls placed 26th.

Buckeye 8 Championship



On Friday, May 5, the varsity baseball team played in the Buckeye 8 Championship, against St. Clairsville. Unfortunately, the boys came up short, with a final score of 8-6.

Varsity Track at OVAC Championship



On Saturday, May 6, the boys’ and girls’ track teams traveled to St. Clairsville for the OVAC Championship. The boys’ team placed 5th place and the girls team placed 6th place in class 4A. Gracie Rogers was the class 4A champion in high jump, and Grace Goudy was the class 4A champion in 100mh. The girls 4x200 relay team also broke the school record from 2007 by running a time of 1:52.50. Congratulations to both teams!

Varsity Baseball Defeats TCC on Senior Night



On Saturday, May 6, the varsity baseball team played against Tuscarawas Catholic Central at Mazeroski Field. The Huskies held a strong lead throughout the entire game, and ended up defeating TCC 22-3. It was also senior night, and Wyatt Pierce, Treston Nemeth, Tre Rex, Cabot Arbaugh, Jace Madzia, and Kaden Jurosko were recognized. Congratulations on all your hard work, seniors!

Baseball Defeats St. Clairsville



On Monday, May 8, the baseball team hosted St. Clairsville. They were victorious, with a final score of 9-1.

Varsity Baseball Loses at Toronto



On Tuesday, May 9, the varsity baseball team played at Toronto. The first inning would have the Huskies go up 9-0 against the Red Knights. However, the two teams would go on to battle back and forth in which the Red Knights would win 16-15. Tucker Snyder, Jace Madzia, and Treston Nemeth pitched for the Huskies.

Varsity Track Meet



On Tuesday, May 9, the varsity track team competed in a home meet against Indian Creek, St. Clairsville, and East Liverpool. The boys’ team placed first overall, with 102 points, while the girls’ placed first as well, with 134 points. On this night, all the seniors were recognized for their time and effort put into the sport, as it was the last home meet. Congratulations to the boys’ and girls’ for their amazing work.

Baseball Victorious over Monroe Central



On Wednesday, May 10, the varsity Huskies took on the Seminoles from Monroe Central, and won with a final score of 8-3. Jace Madzia pitched through six innings of the game, allowing one hit for the Huskies.

Softball Sectional Play



On Thursday, May 10, the varsity softball team traveled to Martins Ferry to compete in the OHSAA D2 Sectional. The Huskies suffered a tough loss to the Purple Riders with a score of 11-0. This was the final game for the Lady Huskies, and they ended their season with a record of 14-8.

Varsity Baseball Defeated by Red Knights



On Thursday, May 11, the varsity baseball team hosted the Toronto Red Knights. Unfortunately, the Huskies lost with a final score of 16-4.

Book Vending Machine!!!

As a new part of the PBIS initiative, students were given the opportunity to earn tokens to shop in our new book vending machine! Thank you to Mrs. Agostini for making this project possible for our students!

Second Grade Fun

Miss Dakota had a birthday party in Mrs. Turner’s room and brought in birthday treats she bought with her own money! How sweet! The class also had fun painting buckets for their summer bucket list writing!







 

Nurse Appreciation!

Students in Mrs. Zamski’s class decorated and signed this poster for Nurse Holly and Nurse Beth as a show of their appreciation for our school nurses and all that they do for us! We love you both! Thank you for keeping us happy and healthy!

March Madness Celebration

Dusta Ryder earned a private pizza party for winning the Math March Madness IXL Competition! Great job, Dusta!





 

Kennywood!

Here are some snaps from the 6th grade field trip to Kennywood! Such a fun day for our graduating sixth graders!

Josiah used his Husky Bucks to buy a pass to have lunch with Mr. Madzia! They had a great time eating and talking together!

 

Teacher Appreciation Week!

This week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week! Here are some of our teachers showing off gifts from one of the days!

 

Energy Education

MOLU with the sponsorship of MPLX and OVEA, brought learning units to Harrison Central for our 4th and 5th grade students to have a hands on learning opportunity. The focus was on energy. It was an incredible learning experience for our students!

















 

Dr. WhizBang and the Library!

Miss Karli from the Puskarich Library brought Dr. WhizBang to visit HC Elementary to get kids excited about science and summer reading! Check out the library’s website or Facebook page for information about the summer reading program and how to sign up!

























 

Preschool Water Day

To celebrate their amazing year and enjoy the sun, our preschool classes had a water day! Teachers joined in on the fun and everyone had a splashtastic time!

 







 

Weaving Away in Fourth Grade!

Fourth grade had fun in art class by weaving on wire hangers! Some students left their creations on the hangers, but others want to do more weaving projects and will learn how to take their weaving off of the hangers! Great job!
