On Friday, November 18, the girls’ varsity basketball team traveled to Bellaire for their first game of the season. Unfortunately, the girls fell short with a score of 73-48. Danica Rensi and Angi Ferri both had 9 points. - Angi Ferri Boys’ Basketball Scrimmages Toronto
On Saturday, November 19, the boy’s basketball team played away at Toronto. The scrimmage was set up to play six quarters. Harrison Central won all six quarters. - Leah Cottrell Cheerleaders Compete at Gameday B.I.T.S.
On Sunday, November 20, the Huskies competed at the Best In The State Gameday Competition at Olentangy Berlin High School in Delaware, Ohio. The cheerleaders brought home second place in division 3, which led them into the championship round where they placed 9th overall. - Lexi Smith Soccer Banquet
On Sunday, November 20, the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams held their banquet. Multiple awards were given and captains were assigned for the next season. The boys’ team will be led by Brady Elliott and Kayden Dunkle, while the girls’ team will be led by Angi Ferri, Vanessa Dowdle, and Lily Gibbons. - Maddy Bender Volleyball Banquet
On Monday, November 21, the junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams held their banquet. Olivia Tonkovich was awarded the setting award, Danica Rensi the hitting award, Nadia Tweedy the blocking award, Maddie Sedgmer the most improved award, Trista Thompson the husky award, and Maddy Butler the digging and serving awards. On Tuesday, November 22, the girls’ junior high basketball team played away against St. Clairsville. Unfortunately, both the seventh and eighth grade teams lost to the Red Devils. The seventh grade fell short, the final score being 14-13, and eighth grade lost their game with a score of 37-22. On Tuesday, November 22, the junior high boys’ basketball team had a scrimmage against Weir. The 7th grade team won two quarters. They played very well on defense and they played hard throughout the whole game. The 8th grade team started slow but played better as the scrimmage went on and won one quarter. On Wednesday, November 23, the girls’ basketball team hosted Cambridge. The Junior Varsity team lost with a final score of 19-18. The varsity team won 59-42. Maddy Butler led all scorers with 28 points, while Emma Fischer and Angi Ferri both chipped in with 10 points. - Zoe Whipkey Boys’ Junior High Basketball Hosts Buckeye Local
On Friday, November 25, the boys’ junior high basketball team competed against the Buckeye Local Panthers at home. The 7th grade boys’ team was leading at halftime with a score of 16-11, and the game finished with the Huskies winning 32-23. On Monday, November 28, the girls’ varsity basketball team played at home against Buckeye Local. It was a varsity only game, and they won with a final score of 69-56. On Tuesday, November 29, the girls’ junior high basketball team traveled to Buckeye Local. Unfortunately, the 7th grade Lady Huskies took a loss, but the 8th grade fought hard and defeated Buckeye Local. On Tuesday, November 29, the varsity team started their season with an amazing game against Indian Creek. The game ended in double overtime with Mykel Quito getting a rebound and securing the game. Brady Elliot had the hot hand and had amazing 3 point shots. Hayden Cassidy also had a couple of incredible shots, recording 20 points. Jace Madzia was awarded player of the game and recorded 27 points. Head Coach Aaron Foldi recorded his first win as the head coach. On Wednesday, November 30, the freshmen boys’ basketball team hosted the Saint Clairsville Red Devils. The Huskies unfortunately lost with a final score of 45-33. - Julian Reese Girls’ Basketball Defeats Edison
On Thursday, December 1, the girls’ junior varsity and varsity basketball teams versed Edison and won both times. For the junior varsity, the score was 16-5, even though they only played two quarters, and the varsity won 49-29. On Thursday, December 1, the junior high spelling bee took place in the high school auditorium. We would like to congratulate all the participants that participated in the bee.
