Boys’ Varsity Basketball Defeats Buckeye Trail in Sectional Championships

On Friday, February 24, the Huskies played against Buckeye Trail in the Sectional Championship game. The Huskies came out victorious, winning 63-58 in overtime! Hayden Cassidy led with 21 points, allowing him to reach 1,000 career points in the third quarter. Mykel Quito finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Jace Madzia finished with 13 points. Congratulations!

Huskies Wrestling has three District Qualifiers

On Saturday, February 25, the varsity wrestling team traveled to Sandy Valley High School for their DIII Sectional Tournament. They took nine wrestlers and returned with three finalists, with an 8th place finish out of 17 teams. 144lb Servacio Lopez came up short against T.J. Wilson in the final round, earning second place, 215lb Lucas Thomas secured a 15-2 victory over Zach Babiczuk from Malvern, earning sectional champion, and 285 Landen Thomas won against Jase Norman of Caldwell by technical fall 16-1, also earning sectional champion. This secures their position in the District Tournament at Harrison Central. Congratulations!

Boys’ Basketball Finishes Season in District Semifinal

On Tuesday, February 28, the varsity boys’ basketball team ended the season with a tough loss in the District Semifinal. The Huskies fought hard but unfortunately it wasn’t enough at the end of the game. Brady Elliot knocked down some big 3’s, while Jace Madzia made many tough layups. Winning the 3rd Sectional Championship in school history, this team has nothing to hang their heads about. Congratulations on a great season!

Positive Behavior

Congratulations to Trevor Graham for receiving a Positive Behavior Award for responsibility!  

 

FFA Week

February 18-24 was National FFA Week. The Harrison Central chapter held many different events throughout the week; a coloring contest (winners are pictured), an emblem hunt, teachers lunch, agriculture Olympics, and a surprise session from state officers, along with various spirit week themes throughout the week. Thank you to everyone that participated.

Literacy Week, Literacy NIght, Fun, Oh My!

We had SUCH an eventful week! Here are some of the highlights. We had a dress up week for literacy week across America, held our “Glow Read a Book” event for Literacy Night, and did some other fun activities like the Book Fair and Flashlight Reading! We are just so proud of all of our students!
