On Saturday, September 21, the cross country team went to Sandy Valley. For junior high, Brody McCabe got 4th place and Avalyn Sall got 9th place. For high school, Tyler Garbrant got 42nd and Jasmine Garbrant got 94th place.

Volleyball Defeats Martins Ferry

|
|
On Saturday 21, junior varsity and varsity held their volley for a cure game against Martins Ferry. Varsity took Martins Ferry into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win; the final scores were; 17-25, 25-20, 25-19, 24-26, 15-12. Junior varsity won in two sets with the scores of: 25-23 and 25-21. Varsity finished the game with 12 aces, serving five aces in a row.

Junior High Volleyball travels to Union Local

On Saturday, September 21, junior high volleyball traveled to Union Local and both teams lost. 7th grade had a score of 2-0, with scores of 25-15, and 25-14, while 8th grade had a score of 2-1, with scores of 25-22, 23-25, and 28-25.

On Monday, September 23, the Huskies traveled to Beaver Local. Junior varsity unfortunately lost with scores of 25-5 and 25-19. Varsity was also defeated with scores of 12-25, 26-24, 25-23, 16-25, and 11-15.

Boys’ Golf Sectional Tournament

|
|
|
|
On Monday, September 23, the boys’ golf team participated in the OHSAA D2 sectional tournament. Nash Roberts shot an 80 to tie for tenth, putting him high enough to be one of their top golfers from a non-qualifying team to advance to the district tournament. The team placed 12th, with a score of 411.

Kaily Banal participated in the Sectional Golf Tournament on Tuesday, September 24. She tied for 2nd place, shooting a 75, and qualified for the District Tournament.

JH Volleyball Loses to Martins Ferry

On Wednesday, September 25, the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams traveled to Martins Ferry to go up against the Purple Riders. The 7th grade lost in 2 sets with scores of 11-25 and 8-25.
The 8th grade lost in 3 sets with scores of 21-25, 25-23 and 20-25.

The boys’ soccer team hosted Weir on Wednesday, September 25 for the OVAC Semifinal. Unfortunately, the boys lost 2-1. Ocean Rogers scored the only goal in the first half of the game. Brady McAfee added 5 more saves to his record.

The cross country team hosted a race on Wednesday, September 25. During the junior high race, both Brody McCabe and Avalyn Sall finished in 2nd place. During the high school race, Lillian Renner finished in 8th place, while Tyler Garbrandt finished in 2nd place.

On Thursday, September 26, the junior high volleyball team played St. Clairsville at home. 7th grade lost 2-1. The scores of the 7th grade game were 25-19, 12-25, and 11-25. 8th grade won 2-0 and the scores were 25-12 and 25-19.
