Huskies Talk Issue 18

Administrators and two Board of Education members attended the CORE meeting with SHP and Hammond Construction. The new softball field was detailed and the fencing and new press box at Wagner Field were discussed. 

Mrs. Harding and Mrs. Snider attended the Zoom Board of Directors meeting for OMERESA.

The superintendent participated in the Harrison County Drug Coalition meeting.

Annual reviews were held within special education

Planning for State of Ohio testing is underway

The auditor of state is almost complete with their audit of Family and Children First/Help Me Grow. 

Ms. Howes and Mrs. Harding have been notified that the resource management review of the cafeteria is complete. 

Mrs. Harding has been fine tuning budgets and reviewing with personnel where final spending needs to occur and establishing a timeline.

Professional development and learning opportunities were conducted within the district

 

 

Creative Writing Team

On Saturday, February 13th, the Creative Writing team competed in the virtual Just Write Regional tournament. The competition consisted of three 45 minute rounds, in which they wrote a story based on the given prompt and genre. Overall, the team finished in 9th place out of 17 teams. Esther Lopez and Alex Dickey have qualified for the virtual State tournament, which will be held on Saturday, May 22. Congratulations to all writers, and good luck to Esther and Alex at the state tournament! Senior Mock Interviews

Over the past few weeks the senior class participated in mock interviews, preparing them for their future. Administrators conducted these interviews with the students, asking them a variety of questions about their future goals and experiences.

FFA Week

On Friday, February 26th, the FFA provided the annual teacher appreciation luncheon in conclusion of National FFA Week. This year’s FFA Week took place from the 20th-27th and serves to bring awareness to the important role this organization plays in helping to develop the future of our agriculture. Members of our chapter participated by dressing up with themes for each day of the week.

District Wrestling Tournament

HC Wrestlers’ participated at the District Wrestling Tournament held this past weekend. Congratulations to the Wrestling Team on a great season!

Fun in First

Celebrating Read Across America week is Miss Jacobsen’s 1st grade class. They started the week off with gold fish sorting and graphing, designing a new pair of socks for fox, Cat in the Hat directed drawings, and ended the week with a green eggs and ham treat and painting activity.
