District Office

• Congratulations to the girls’ bowling team for winning OVAC Championship and for the boys’ team taking second place. It is great watching these Huskies and their coaches be so successful. 

• Mrs. Snider attended an IEP meeting for our student at the DePaul School for the Deaf. 

• Mr. Saffell held the District Safety Meeting and Mrs. Snider, district staff and administrators attended. 

• Collaboration within special education is ongoing with service providers and faculty

• Administrative planning through the Ohio Improvement Process 

• Mrs. Harding gathered information for Energy Alliances to review natural gas prices compared to IGS Energy.

• Mrs. Harding attended the local treasurer’s meeting at the Belmont Co. ESC office. Jefferson Co. Auditor’s office was there to discuss pipelines in general, as well as the Rover Pipeline specifically.

• The state auditor’s office has finished up the FY2019 audit and it has been sent on for final review before being released officially.

Harrison Central Jr/Sr High

• The Mock Trial team competed at the Washington County Courthouse in Marietta. The students split up into teams, representing both the plaintiff and defense, and argued a case against other schools. The case focused on free speech in schools. Congratulations to Tristen Kovarik on being named the Outstanding Witness in her trial.

• All OVAC banners are up in the gymnasium!!

• Congratulations to Mrs. Arbaugh’s 5th Period 7th Grade ELA Reading Class for reaching 2,486,029 (Word Count) for the 2nd Nine Weeks!

• Congratulations to the Girls Bowling Team on winning the OVAC Championship at the OVAC Bowling Tournament!

• Congratulations to the Boys’ Bowling Team on a 2nd place finish at the OVAC Bowling Tournament!

Harrison Central Elementary

• Ms. Demas’s third grade reading class invited Miss Tipton’s 2nd grade to come watch a short play this week that was based on their weekly reading story.

• We love to celebrate success!!

• Stuart Heavilin from the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation came to do an activity with the 4th graders. The activity introduced ecosystems to the students. Stuart talked about resources deer need to survive and what happens to the population if resources are not available to them.

• Franci Doty, Ashley Sefsick, and Tina Coffman judged Early Childhood Education students at the JVS which recognized participants who demonstrated their ability to use knowledge and skills gained from their enrollment in an ECE program
