Cheer CompetitionOn Sunday, November 7, the Harrison Central Competition Teams competed at Lake High School in Akron, Ohio. Junior High, Gameday Comp, and Traditional Comp all competed. Junior High received 3rd place, Gameday received 2nd place, and Traditional placed 1st. Altogether, the Lady Huskies were grand champions! This was a great day for the Huskies, bringing home four trophies. - Nahia Ruiz de Alda Varsity Golf AwardsOn November 8, 2021 there were four awards presented to the golf team. Kaily Banal was awarded 2021 East District Division 2 Girls Honorable Mention. Nash Roberts was also awarded with 2021 Eastern District Honorable Mention. Finally, Aiden Sliva was awarded 2021 Academic All Ohio and 2021 East District Division 2 Boys Honorable Mention. Congratulations to all award winners! - Kaily Banal Football BanquetOn Sunday, November 7, the football team held their end of the season banquet in the auditorium. During the banquet, the players were recognized for their performance throughout the 2021 season. Sophomore Hayden Cassidy was named offensive player, Senior Nathan Bertolino was named defensive player, and Junior Jace Madzia was recognized for the special teams award, along with Junior Cabot Arbaugh, who received the Husky award. The following students were given the captain award, recognizing leadership: Senior Matthew Smith, Junior Caleb Cowans, and Junior Cabot Arbaugh. Congratulations to the team for a great season! - Aubrey Wood Physical Science Virtual Field TripOn Wednesday, November 3, Mrs. Macenczak’s physical science class attended a virtual field trip. The field trip was about “How does a wind turbine work and what career opportunities are available?” With the help of the Ohio Energy Project they were able to complete a turbine tour at the North Findlay Wind Campus. The students were able to see how the turbines are put together and see different career opportunities. They will then complete the Kid Wind Design Challenge and explore how wind turbines work and create different blade designs. - Hailey Nation Girls’ Basketball Scrimmages Indian ValleyOn Monday, November 8, our girls’ basketball team scrimmaged Indian Valley. Both varsity and junior varsity scrimmaged. The girls took the opportunity to receive extra practice, against another team, to prepare for the season. - Georgia Cox Boys’ Basketball Scrimmages Indian ValleyThe Huskies hosted the Braves on Wednesday, November 10. This scrimmage gave the two teams opportunities to do in-game reps to help them prepare for the season. The two took turns playing offense and defense for around five minutes each. The Huskies open at Union Local on Saturday, November 27. - Edwin Stringer Farewell Party for Mrs. DunlapOn Wednesday, November 10, the Harrison Central Staff threw a going away party for Mrs. Dunlap. The staff gifted her with a gift card tree and a cake for her last day here. She will be missed by staff and students, and we wish her the best of luck in South Carolina. - Angi Ferri Breakfast for Our VeteransOn Thursday, November 11, on Veterans Day, Harrison Central invited local veterans for breakfast. The staff and students of Harrison Central wanted to give back to our veterans to thank them for their service to our country. Our wonderful lunch ladies prepared breakfast and some of the teachers and students went down to chat with the veterans. - Skyelar Goldsborough Academic Challenge Falls to EdisonOn Monday, November 8, the Academic Challenge team lost their match against Edison.
