Huskies Destroy East LiverPool Potters
Friday, September 16, the Huskies defeated the East Liverpool Potters by 24 points. Hayden Cassidy completed 14 out of 24 passes for 207 yards with 3 touchdowns. Tre Rex led the huskies 92 yards on 4 catches, 2 of them going for touchdowns. Mykel Quito took charge on the ground, rushing 11 times for 90 yards and a touchdown. Coach Hayes said, “We really came out in the first half and really set the tone and got after it on both sides of the ball.”

Harrison Central 4th Grade Field Day
On Friday, September 16, the Harrison Central FFA officer team helped with the 4th grade field day at Zitko Farm. This event was hosted by the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District. All 7 FFA officers were in charge of bringing and teaching Harrison Central's 4th graders about basic livestock knowledge such as cattle, ducks, goats, rabbits, and horses. Throughout the day students also learned about drones, erosion and runoff, watersheds, poisons plants, and bird feeders.

Girls Soccer Defeats East Liverpool
On Saturday, September 17, the girls’ soccer team played the East Liverpool Potters. Angi Ferri scored four goals, Lily Gibbons scored two, Hayden Elliott and Carleigh Burgess each scored one. Vanessa Dowdle, goalie, had two saves. The final score was 8-0.

Junior Varsity Football Beats Buckeye Local
On Saturday, September 17, the junior varsity football team hosted the Buckeye Local Panthers and won 26-16. Jacob Quito caught 3 passes for 46 yards and 1 touchdown. Chaz Culbertson had a 57 yard punt return touchdown, 1 interception, and 1 reception for 11 yards. Brady Hyre had a 23 yard fumble recovery touchdown, along with a 14 yard rushing touchdown. R.J. Belon had one interception.

Boys Varsity Soccer Easily Defeats Shenandoah
On Saturday, September 17, the boys’ soccer team defeated Shenandoah 10-0. Jace Madzia recorded one goal and three assists. Taylor Cope had an amazing goal. Zane Carson scored his first goal this season. Lunis Hildebrant recorded three goals and three assists. Dean Forrester had three assists. Jaydis Yoho scored one goal, after Cole Saiter recorded his first save in his first time as goalkeeper, and Lorenzo Chiarpotto had three goals.

Cross Country Meadowbrooke
On Saturday, September 17, Brent Malcomb timed an outstanding 21.32, placing 4th. Mariel Ward timed 37.29, placing last on her 5th meet this year. This meet was also her first time running for Harrison Central. Shawn placed 1st, Adien placed 2nd, Charles placed 3rd. Lillian Renner timed 33.25 almost placing last.

Girls’ Volleyball Falls to the East Liverpool Potters
On Monday, September 19, the volleyball team hosted their match at home against East Liverpool. The junior varsity team lost 0-2. The varsity team fell 0-3. Maddy Butler had 19 digs throughout the evening, as well as Danica Rensi with 11 digs. Olivia Tonkivich led the team with 14 assists.

Girls’ Soccer Triumphs over Philo
On Monday, September 19, the girls’ soccer team hosted their first ever match against the Philo Electrics. The final score was 1-0, with the goal coming straight off the foot of #24, Alina Williams from the 25 yard line. Both teams brought the intensity, but the Huskies were able to keep control and come out on top at the end of the second half.

Boys Soccer Defeats Union Local
It was a great day for the Harrison Central Huskies! On Wednesday, September 21, the Huskies defeated Union Local. The final score came out to be Huskies 11, Union Local 0. Lorenzo Chiarpotto led the team with four goals and two assists!

Huskies’ Volleyball Falls to Big Red
On Tuesday, September 20, the Huskies traveled to Steubenville for their match. Unfortunately, both varsity and junior varsity teams lost; scores being varsity 2-3 and junior varsity 0-2. Even though the outcome was not what was hoped for, the varsity team ended the night with great stats. Danica Rensi had 19 kills and 34 digs, Trista Thompson had 13 kills, Maddy Butler had 29 digs, and Olivia Tonkovich ended the night by breaking the assists in a match record with 52 assists. Junior High Volleyball Defeats Shadyside
On Tuesday, September 20, the Shadyside Volleyball team traveled here to Harrison Central and 7th and 8th grade both ended up beating Shadyside in two sets.

Boys’ Soccer Defeats Monroe Central
On Wednesday, September 21, the Harrison Central Boys’ Soccer team played Monroe Central. Lunis Hildebrandt, Kayden Dunkle, and Lorenzo Chiarpotto scored two goals each. Kaden Jurosko, Jace Madzia, Taylor Cope, Brady Elliott, and Cole Saiter each had one goal. The Huskies beat the Seminoles 11-0.

Girls’ Soccer Falls to St.C
On Thursday, September 22, the girls traveled to Saint Clairsville High School for their makeup game. Both teams came out strong in the first half, however St.C came out stronger in the end with the final score being 4-3. Angi Ferri had 2 goals, Lexi Smith had 1 goal assisted by Carleigh Burgess, and goalie Vanessa Dowdle had 13 saves.

Boys’ Soccer Wins Against JCCHS
On Thursday, September 22, the boys’ soccer team played at home against JCC. Lorenzo Chiarptto had three goals and one assist, Jace Madzia had two goals and three assists, Brady Elliot with one goal and Lunis Hildebrandt with one assist. Jaydis Yohoo had a total of three saves with the ending score 6-2.

Girls Volleyball Splits With Edison Wildcats
On Thursday, September 22, the Huskies played at Edison. To start the game, the junior varsity won 2-1. Unfortunately, the varsity team lost 0-3. Although the varsity team did not come out victorious, there was great effort shown in the stats. Danica Rensi had 13 digs, along with Maddy Butler with 9 digs. Trista Thompson had five kills along with AnnMarie Corder having six kills. Olivia Tonkovich had 15 assists.

Junior High Volleyball Comes Out on Top Against Edison
On Thursday, September 22, the Huskies traveled to Richmond to face off the Wildcats. The 7th grade beat them out, two sets to zero. While on another note, the 8th grade kept their composure to battle it out and defeated the Wildcats, two sets to one.

Golf Wins Against Indian Creek and Oak Glen
On Thursday, September 22, the golf team won with a team total of 192. Indian Creek got second with a team score of 193, and Oak Glenn got third with a team total of 202.

On Thursday, September 22, the junior high football team traveled to Martins Ferry. The team unfortunately lost to the Purple Riders with a score of 40-0.

On Thursday, September 22, junior and senior students had the opportunity to attend a college and career fair at Fort Steuben Mall. Students enjoyed speaking with and learning about college and career opportunities.
