Harrison Central Defeats Perry

On Friday, September 2, varsity football beat Perry at home 35-34. Hayden Cassidy threw for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns, and also had a 2 yard touchdown run. Mykel Quito ran for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tre Rex collected 4 receptions for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns. The team is now 3-0.

Girls Soccer Defeated By Ridgewood

On Tuesday, September 6, the girls' soccer team traveled to Ridgewood High School. The Huskies were beaten 3-1. At halftime, the score was 2-0, and then Lily Gibbons scored a goal for the Huskies when Maddy Bender kicked a corner kick in the second half.

Junior High Volleyball Plays Barnesville

On Tuesday, September 6, the Harrison Central Junior High Volleyball Team traveled to Barnesville. 7th grade was victorious in the end, defeating the Barnesville team 2-1. However, despite their best efforts, the 8th grade fell 2-0.

Girls’ Volleyball Defeated by Barnesville Shamrocks

On Tuesday, September 6, both junior varsity and varsity fell to the Barnesville volleyball team. The junior varsity team lost in two sets. The varsity team lost in three sets. Throughout the evening, Olivia Tonkovich had a total of 12 assists as well as Danica Rensi with 12 digs and 6 kills.

Golf Plays in Quad with Edison, Linsly, and Steubenville

On Tuesday, September 6, the golf team placed third shooting a team total of 197. Nash Roberts shot a 44, Heath Clay shot a 48, Ocean Rogers shot a 50, and Kaily Banal shot a 55. Linsly won the quad with a team total of 159.

Boys Varsity Soccer with a Tough Loss Against St C.

On September 6, varsity soccer was defeated by St. Clairsville. Jaydis Yoho had seven saves against the Big Reds. Lorenzo Chiarpotto had a goal with 6.9 seconds left in the game. Jace Madzia assisted Lorenzo Chiarpotto. St. Clairsville had an own goal for the first goal for the Huskies.

Junior High Football Falls to Bellaire

On Wednesday, September 7, the Junior High Football team hosted Bellaire and lost 40-6. Riley Moon rushed for 21 yards and a touchdown. Clayton Tuchek had 36 rushing yards and Colten Lock rushed for 33. Clayton Tuchek would suffer a leg injury in the second quarter. The Huskies will look to regroup going into their bye week.

Junior High Volleyball Battles at Shadyside

On Wednesday, September 7, the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams traveled to Shadyside to play the tigers. The 7th grade team fell short to the tigers, 2 sets to 1, while the 8th grade team fought and held their own to win 2 sets to 0.

Golf Falls in Linsly Match

On Thursday, September 8, the golf team traveled to Linsly High School, competing against 3 schools including: Linsly, St. Clairsville, and Fort Frye. Linsly won with a score of 290, Fort Frye came in second at 298, St. Clairsville was in third place with 320 points, and Harrison fell in last place with a score of 371.

Boys’ Soccer Defeated by Indian Creek

On Thursday, September 8, boys soccer played at home against the Indian Creek Redskins. The Huskies brought the intensity in the first half, but fell with a score of 3-0 in the second half.

Huskies Volleyball Falls to Beaver Local

On September 8, the girls’ played at Beaver Local. Both junior varsity and Varsity fall to Beaver. The junior varsity lost 2-0 and varsity lost 3-0.

Scientists Make Discovery at Home

Shayla Nameth and Emeri Sefsick found a Hickory Devil Caterpillar this week.


They brought it into the science lab and we discovered that it will morph into a Regal Moth. Stay tuned!
