Varsity Football Falls to Edison

On Friday, October 7, the Huskies traveled to the Edison Wildcats. Unfortunately, the Huskies lost 49-14. Parker Hutton caught a pass from Hayden Cassidy for the first touchdown, and Mykel Quito ran the ball for another touchdown. This makes the Huskies’ season 4-4.

Boys’ Soccer Defeated by Indian Creek

On Saturday, October 8, the boys’ soccer team traveled to Harding Stadium for the Dietary Benefit to compete against Indian Creek. Indian Creek scored 4 goals in the first half, and 2 more in the second half. Jaydis Yoho had 11 saves through the entire game. The final score was 6-0 with Indian Creek taking the win.

Cross Country OVAC at Cambridge

On Saturday, October 8, the cross country team competed away at Cambridge for their OVAC meet. The individuals making the best time for the Huskies include: Aubrie Moss for the two mile run at 15:52.80, Maddy Edwards with a time of 23:27.55 in the 5000 meter run, Chaz Burke with a time of 13:52.82 in the two mile run, and Sean Forrester with a time of 18:22.81 in the 5000 meter run.

8th Grade Volleyball Tournament Play

On Monday, October 10, the 8th grade volleyball team began their tournament play against the Shadyside Tigers, at Bellaire. After defeating the Tigers, two sets to one, in the first round, they advanced to round two and faced the Barnesville Shamrocks. Unfortunately, that game would end their season as they fell to Barnesville, two sets to one.

Huskies Volleyball Falls to Dover Tornadoes

On Tuesday, October 11, the Huskies traveled to Dover for their match. Unfortunately, both junior varsity and varsity teams lost; the junior varsity losing 2-0 and varsity losing 3-0. Maddy Butler led the team with 10 digs, as well as Danica Rensi with 8 digs. Trista Thompson and Nadia Tweedy each had 3 kills, and Olivia Tonkovich had 9 assists.

Boys’ Soccer Defeated by Beavers

On Tuesday, October 11, the boys’ soccer team hosted the Beaver Local Beavers for their last home game of the season. Jace Madzia scored the only goal for the Huskies, with the score ending 2-1. Jaydis Yoho had 17 saves in the first half and 13 in the second.

Girls’ Soccer Defeated By Beavers

On Wednesday, October 12, the girls’ soccer team played the Beaver Local Beavers. At halftime, the score was 4-0, Beavers. During the second half, Angi Ferri scored for the Huskies, which tied Sydney Starr’s record of 29 goals in one season. The Huskies fell 4-1. This was the Huskies last regular season game. They start tournaments on Wednesday, October 19, at Harding Stadium.

Volleyball Falls to Toronto

On Wednesday, October 12, the volleyball team played away at Toronto. The junior varsity team lost their match in two sets. The varsity team lost their match in three. Danica Rensi led the team with 10 kills throughout the evening, as well as Nadia Tweedy with 6 kills. Maddy Butler had 29 digs, followed by Danica Rensi with 15 digs.

Junior High Football Defeats TCC

On Wednesday, October 12, the Junior High Football team played at Tuscarawas Central Catholic and won 8-6. Gage Stoneking had 18 passing yards and a passing touchdown. Brody Chrisman had 10 receiving yards with one receiving touchdown. Clayton Tuchek had 20 yards rushing.

7th Grade Volleyball Wraps Up Season

On Wednesday, October 12, the 7th grade volleyball team traveled to Bellaire, to play Barnesville, to open up their first tournament play. Unfortunately, the team fell to the Shamrocks 2-0, wrapping up their season.

Volleyball Falls to Cambridge

On Thursday, October 13, the varsity volleyball team played against the Cambridge Bobcats. They lost in three sets; 25-22, 25-17, 25-21. Although they fell short, great efforts were shown. Maddy Butler led with 16 digs, Danica Rensi followed with 12 digs and 5 kills, Nessa Culver had 11 digs, Leah Cotrell with 6 digs, and Olivia Tonkavich had five digs, along with 17 assists.

Boys’ Soccer Falls to Tusky Valley

On Thursday, October 13, the boys’ soccer team traveled to Tusky Valley and lost 7-1. Cole Saiter had the only goal of the night, which was assisted by Cooper Thompson. Jaydis Yoho had multiple saves on the night.

Positive Behavior Awards

Congratulations to the following students for being awarded for their positive behavior: Miranda Cottrell and Katherynn Edwards for engaging in learning, William DiLoreto for engaging in learning, Bailey Smith for kindness, and Carson McCartney for Good Citizenship.
