Veteran’s Day Breakfast

On Friday, November 11, a group of seniors hosted a Veteran’s Day breakfast for their service learning project. The school cafeteria was opened to veterans and their families, where they were provided breakfast, heard from students and other speakers, and participated in a parade on the elementary side. Thank you to all veterans for their service!

Girls’ Basketball Scrimmages at Indian Valley

On Saturday, November 12, the high school girls’ basketball team traveled to Indian Valley, where they scrimmaged both Indian Valley and Coshocton. Both the varsity and junior varsity teams played a total of six, ten minute quarters, three against each team, winning all of them.

OVAC All-Star Soccer Game

On Sunday, November 13, five seniors were selected to represent Harrison Central in the OVAC All-Star soccer game at the Red Devil Stadium. The teams for the OVAC game were divided into those from Ohio versus those from West Virginia. The chosen seniors for the boys were Kaden Jurosko and Jace Madzia, who fell to the West Virginia team with a score of 5-1. The girls’ game followed the boys’, where Collette Downs, Gracie Rogers, and Lexi Smith represented Harrison Central, tying the West Virginia team with a score of 1-1.

Football Banquet

On Sunday, November 13, the football team had their end of the year banquet. The awards earned by the players were: Austin Lucas and Chaz Culbertson won the Scout Team award, Parker Hutton and Caleb Cowans with the Defense Award, Parker Hutton and Tre Rex with the Offense Award, Hayden Cassidy with the Coach’s Award, Cabot Arbaugh with the Huskies Pride Award, Jace Madzia with the Special Teams Award, and Cabot Arbaugh, Caleb Cowans and Parker Hutton with the Captains Awards. Great job on an amazing season boys!

Junior High Girls’ Basketball Defeats Claymont in Scrimmage

On Tuesday, November 15, the junior high girls’ basketball team hosted a scrimmage against Claymont. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams performed well and learned some things they need to improve on for the season. Overall, it was a successful scrimmage.

Boys’ Basketball Scrimmages Linsly

On Thursday, November 17, the varsity and junior varsity boys’ basketball teams hosted a scrimmage with Linsly. The varsity team played a total of four quarters, 8 minutes each, while the junior varsity played five quarters of 10 minutes each.

Senior college review math students factored polynomials to complete a Thanksgiving color by answer.

Third Grade Van Goghs!

Third graders made a mixed media piece where they did their own rendition of Starry Night with 3D pumpkins! How cool!

Fifth Grade Art

This week, fifth graders used foil and shoe polish relief to create these amazing images!

Fourth Grade Essay Winners

Fourth grade students wrote a five paragraph persuasive essay about a monster they created. The students had to persuade their reader to purchase their monster. WInners were Mia Barcroft, Riley Parks, Alyvia Bryant, Dusta Ryder, Jett Triplett, and Chase Campbell. Awesome job!

Fourth Grade Life-Size Art

This week in art, fourth graders worked in teams to collaborate on making life-size Nutcrackers!

Paper Mache Figurines

Sixth grade created action figurines using foil and paper mache! Aren’t these so cool?

Positive Shoutouts!

These students were caught doing things the Huskies Way and received a positive behavior shoutout for it! Great job all!

Second Grade History Treat

After learning about the wampanoag Native Americans and the Pilgrims, students in Mrs. Turner’s second grade class made teepees as a fun extension activity!

Our Huskies Girls Basketball team participated in High Five Friday! Good luck with opening night and rest of your season!

Second Grade Superstars

These students from Mrs. McAfee’s class got 100’s on all of their Unit 2 vocabulary and spelling tests! Awesome job to all!

Fourth Grade Tech Gurus

Students in 4th grade wrapped up their chapter dealing with technology. Students have been working on their technology projects focusing on the changes in technology!
