Huskies Host V.A.L.E.S. and Senior Night

On Friday, October 21, the Huskies hosted Buckeye Local to battle for the V.A.L.E.S. trophy. The Huskies ended up defeating the Panthers 45-34 and bringing the V.A.L.E.S. trophy home. Hayden Cassidy threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns. Mykel Quito ran for 141 yards and three touchdowns. Parker Hutton, Alex Fluharty, and Tre Rex all scored one touchdown. Since it was senior night, all seniors that participated in football, cheerleading, marching band, and cross country were recognized.

Senior Pep Rally

On Friday, October 21, the varsity football team held a pep rally in the auditorium to honor the senior players before their last home game. Each senior had their jerseys placed on them by their mothers, prior to their individual speeches where they delivered a message about their time in the football program at Harrison Central and what it means to be a husky. The recognized seniors include: Jace Madzia, Josiah Jones, Tre Rex, Wyatt Pierce, Kaden Jurosko, Caleb Cowans, Cabot Arbaugh, and Jonathan Grim.

Positive Behavior Awards 

Congratulations to the following students on their positive behavior: Halli Montgomery, Jaylie Byers, and Joseph Taylor on engaging in learning. As well as, Amelia Puskarich for kindness and Kamryn Crothers for responsibility.

Algebra II Puzzle

On Thursday, October 27, the junior Algebra II completed a factoring puzzle.

Cheerleaders Host Trunk or Treat

On Thursday, October 27, the cheerleaders hosted their annual Trunk or Treat. Many kids showed up in their costumes for games, face painting, ice cream and candy.

Teachers Become Disney Characters

On Friday, October 28, teachers dressed as Disney characters for Halloween.

PBIS KICKOFF!

The Huskies Way committee kicked off our PBIS initiative with a pep rally for our students! Special thanks to Mrs. Agostini for all of her hard work, our Huskies Way high schoolers who performed skits for us, and the Harrison Central cheerleaders for entertaining!

 

Cub Scouts Visit HC!

This past week, a representative from the Cub Scouts, Melissa,  came to talk to K-5th grade students! Students were taught about everything Cub Scouts have to offer and what fun opportunities students can be a part of  if they join.

Field Trip

Our second grade classes along with Miss Tosha’s class went to Shumaker Farms for their field trip! They were able to pick out a pumpkin, play in corn, and pet the animals. They also did fun activities like zip lining and jumping on an inflatable pad! Thank you, Shumaker Farms, for having us!

 

Red Ribbon Week!

Harrison Central participated in Red Ribbon Week to help spread the message about Drug Awareness! Monday was Western Day, Tuesday was Camo Day, and Wednesday was Team Day. We finished out the week with Hawaiian Day on Thursday and Costume/PJ Day on Friday. All of our Huskies looked awesome!

 

Trunk Or Treat

Many of our students attended Trunk Or Treat held and organized by the Harrison Central Cheerleaders. Coach Bailie-or Miss Ray as you know her, wants to thank everyone for coming out! It was great!

 

Student Teacher Farewell

Fourth Grade said goodbye to Ms. Monika Litynski on Friday. She student taught with Mrs. Agostini and will be finishing up her student teaching experience at Edison. We want to wish her the best of luck in all of her future endeavors!

 

A Visit from the JVS!

Mrs. Carina Aulicino from the Jefferson Vocational School came to talk to some of our students about careers and opportunities the JVS offers! Thank you, Mrs. Aulicino!

 

Fifth Grade Math Review

Our fifth grade students enjoyed playing a hands-on review game for math!

 

Fall Fun!

Miss Tosha and Miss Kira’s class painted pumpkins and made crafts with leaves to get in the Fall spirit! They also carved pumpkins and examined the insides! Awesome job!

 

Fourth Grade Science Activities

4th grade students received science activities from Ascent. This activity was based on Gas and Oil drilling. The kids simulated drilling with a Twinkie and a straw. They discovered that you can get the most gas/oil or cream through horizontal drilling. Great job!

 

Positive Behavior Shoutouts!

Awesome job to some of our students who went above and beyond for being recognized for their efforts! Ava showed good citizenship and Keyanna was ready to learn!

 

Tangram Halloween!

Mrs. Rocchi’s second graders used tangrams to make Halloween pictures! Great job, second graders!
