Girls’ Varsity Falls Short to Big Reds

On Friday, November 18, the girls’ varsity basketball team traveled to Bellaire for their first game of the season. Unfortunately, the girls fell short with a score of 73-48. Danica Rensi and Angi Ferri both had 9 points.

Boys’ Basketball Scrimmages Toronto

On Saturday, November 19, the boy’s basketball team played away at Toronto. The scrimmage was set up to play six quarters. Harrison Central won all six quarters.

Cheerleaders Compete at Gameday B.I.T.S.

On Sunday, November 20, the Huskies competed at the Best In The State Gameday Competition at Olentangy Berlin High School in Delaware, Ohio. The cheerleaders brought home second place in division 3, which led them into the championship round where they placed 9th overall.

Soccer Banquet

On Sunday, November 20, the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams held their banquet. Multiple awards were given and captains were assigned for the next season. The boys’ team will be led by Brady Elliott and Kayden Dunkle, while the girls’ team will be led by Angi Ferri, Vanessa Dowdle, and Lily Gibbons.

Volleyball Banquet

On Monday, November 21, the junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams held their banquet. Olivia Tonkovich was awarded the setting award, Danica Rensi the hitting award, Nadia Tweedy the blocking award, Maddie Sedgmer the most improved award, Trista Thompson the husky award, and Maddy Butler the digging and serving awards. Maddy Butler is now a member of the 1,000 club and Danica Rensi the 500 club. Congratulations to everyone!

Junior High Girls’ Basketball Falls to Red Devils

On Tuesday, November 22, the girls’ junior high basketball team played away against St. Clairsville. Unfortunately, both the seventh and eighth grade teams lost to the Red Devils. The seventh grade fell short, the final score being 14-13, and eighth grade lost their game with a score of 37-22. Although both teams suffered a loss, great effort was put into the game.

Junior High Boys’ Basketball Scrimmages Weir

On Tuesday, November 22, the junior high boys’ basketball team had a scrimmage against Weir. The 7th grade team won two quarters. They played very well on defense and they played hard throughout the whole game. The 8th grade team started slow but played better as the scrimmage went on and won one quarter. It was a good scrimmage overall for both teams.

Girls’ Basketball Defeats Cambridge

On Wednesday, November 23, the girls’ basketball team hosted Cambridge. The Junior Varsity team lost with a final score of 19-18. The varsity team won 59-42. Maddy Butler led all scorers with 28 points, while Emma Fischer and Angi Ferri both chipped in with 10 points.

Boys’ Junior High Basketball Hosts Buckeye Local

On Friday, November 25, the boys’ junior high basketball team competed against the Buckeye Local Panthers at home. The 7th grade boys’ team was leading at halftime with a score of 16-11, and the game finished with the Huskies winning 32-23. The 8th grade boys’ team was behind 31-7 at halftime, and they unfortunately fell with a final score of 48-17.

JBowling Hosts Parkersburg

On Saturday, November 26, the girls’ and boys’ bowling teams bowled against Parkersburg South. The boys won 1906-1734 and the girls unfortunately lost 1589-1555.

Girls’ Varsity Basketball Defeats Buckeye Local

On Monday, November 28, the girls’ varsity basketball team played at home against Buckeye Local. It was a varsity only game, and they won with a final score of 69-56. Maddy Butler led the Huskies with 28 points, Danica Rensi had 13, and Mackenzie Harbold had 12.

Huskies Bowling Falls to Weir

On Tuesday, November 29, the Huskies bowling team hosted Weir High Bowling. The varsity team had a hard fought loss, 2416-2056, and the junior varsity team had a good showing, but fell 1552-1311.

Junior High Lady Huskies Travel to Buckeye Local

On Tuesday, November 29, the girls’ junior high basketball team traveled to Buckeye Local. Unfortunately, the 7th grade Lady Huskies took a loss, but the 8th grade fought hard and defeated Buckeye Local. Great game girls, keep up the determination and hard work!

Varsity Boys Start Season with a Win

On Tuesday, November 29, the varsity team started their season with an amazing game against Indian Creek. The game ended in double overtime with Mykel Quito getting a rebound and securing the game. Brady Elliot had the hot hand and had amazing 3 point shots. Hayden Cassidy also had a couple of incredible shots, recording 20 points. Jace Madzia was awarded player of the game and recorded 27 points. Head Coach Aaron Foldi recorded his first win as the head coach. Congratulations to all!

Junior High Boys' Basketball Falls to Red Devils

On Wednesday, November 30, the Junior High Boys’ Basketball team hosted the Saint Clairsville Red Devils. Unfortunately, both teams suffered a loss on the night. The 7th grade team lost 46-18, and the 8th grade team lost 48-10.

Junior High Girls Fall To Union Local

On Wednesday, November 30, the junior high girls basketball traveled to Union Local. The 7th grade unfortunately lost with the final score of 25-14, and the 8th grade ended with a forfeit.

Freshmen Boys’ Basketball Defeated by Red Devils

On Wednesday, November 30, the freshmen boys’ basketball team hosted the Saint Clairsville Red Devils. The Huskies unfortunately lost with a final score of 45-33.

Girls’ Basketball Defeats Edison

On Thursday, December 1, the girls’ junior varsity and varsity basketball teams versed Edison and won both times. For the junior varsity, the score was 16-5, even though they only played two quarters, and the varsity won 49-29. The Huskies were led by Angi Ferri with 17 points and Danica Rensi with 16 points.

Junior High Spelling Bee

On Thursday, December 1, the junior high spelling bee took place in the high school auditorium. We would like to congratulate all the participants that participated in the bee. The top eight, plus two alternates, will advance to the next round. Congratulations to Charlie Miller on being the champion! The place winners are as follows: 2nd- Hunter Vint, 3rd- Jayden Hilton, 4th- Kaden Smith, 5th- Joseph Taylor, 6th- Kody O’Day, 7th- Kassandra Bennett, 8th-Chace Byers, Alternate #1- Matt Tibbs, Alternate #2- Katylnn Summers.

4th Grade Anatomy

4th graders got to take a field trip to the high school side of the building and Mrs. Taylor showed the students the Anatomage table. They got to view an eye, heart, and brain. What a wonderful learning experience for our students!


 

Disguise a Turkey

Second grade students in Mrs.Turner’s room worked on disguising turkeys after reading Turkey Trouble and also got to make apple pie in a cup to get that Holiday Feeling!

 

Balloon Parade!

Our students created their own balloons for HC”s version of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! Check out these creative balloons! Shoutout to Mrs. Agostini for organizing this awesome event!

 

Pilgrim Creations

Students with Mrs. Steele made their own pilgrims after reading “Molly’s Pilgrim!” Great job!

On December 16th, the Theatre Department will be putting on the show “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!” and have invited our students to watch. They are asking for a $2 donation to see the show!
