Football Falls to St. Clairsville

  
 

 
  

The football team traveled to St. Clairsville on Friday, September 22, to take on the Red Devils. The Huskies sadly lost 49-8, with Kayne Dunkle scoring the only touchdown.

Girls’ Soccer Defeats John Marshall

  
 

 
  

On Saturday, September 23, the girls’ soccer team traveled to John Marshall. The girls finished the game, defeating the Monarchs 7-4. The Huskies were led by Angi Ferri with four goals and one assist, Alex Dray with two goals, Lily Gibbons with one goal and two assists, Avri Puskarich with one assist, Emma Patterson with one assist, and Vanessa Dowdle had eight saves.

Junior High Volleyball Splits with Union Local

  
 

 
  

On Saturday, September 23, the junior high volleyball team hosted Union Local. The 7th grade team was victorious, with a final score of 2-0. The 8th-grade team unfortunately met defeat. The final score ended 2-1.

Cross Country Invite at Sandy Valley

  
 

 
  

The cross country team traveled to Sandy Valley to participate in their invite on Saturday, September 23. Our top finishers were Tyler Garbrandt and Gretchin Dulkoski for the high school teams, and Bryce Sobleski and Aubrie Moss for the junior high teams.

  
  

Boys’ Soccer Falls to Weir in OVAC Action

  
 

 
  

On Monday, September 25, the boys’ soccer team played at home for the OVAC Quarterfinals, against Weir. It was a close game, but the Huskies would end up falling to with a score of 1-0.

Volleyball Defeated at Beaver Local

  
 

 
  

The junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams traveled to Beaver Local on Monday, September 25. The junior varsity fell 2-0, while the varsity was defeated 3-0. The first set was 25-16, the second set was 25-12, and the last set was 25-13. The Huskies were led by Nessa Culver with 13 digs and Olivia Tonkovich with 10 digs.

Junior High Volleyball Splits with Claymont

  
 

 
  

On Monday, September 25, the junior high volleyball team took on the Claymont Mustangs, at Claymont. The 7th grade was defeated 2-0, while the 8th grade played three sets and was victorious 2-1.

Golf Sectional

  
 

 
  

The golf team participated in the Sectional Tournament on Monday, September 25 and Tuesday, September 26. The boys’ team finished 9th out of 13 teams, on Monday. Nash Roberts finished 9th overall, advancing to the District Tournament. Kaily Banal finished in 26th place on Tuesday.

  
  

Snake Dance

  
 

 
  

On Tuesday, September 26, the Huskies held their annual snake dance and bonfire event to celebrate Homecoming. It was a gathering that brought our community together to show spirit and have fun. The snake dance began at the entrance of Sally Buffalo and proceeded to the old softball field, where the bonfire awaited. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as students, staff, and locals joined in. Ice Cream Island made an appearance and brought their ice cream truck along, while students enjoyed gathering and games after the bonfire.

On Wednesday, September 27, the junior high volleyball team took on Martins Ferry at home. The 7th grade team won 2-0. Unfortunately, the 8th grade fell short, 2-1.

On Wednesday, September 28, the high school volleyball team traveled to Edison. Junior varsity won 2-0. Varsity competed through 5 sets and won with scores of; 27-25, 19-25, 16,25, 25-19, and 15-13. Stat leaders were: Lauren Doane had 16 kills, 9 blocks, and 6 digs, Kennedy Dunlap had 19 digs and 6 kills, Madison Zeroski had 7 kills and 6 aces, Trista Thompson had 8 digs, Leah Grady had 17 assists and 6 digs, Taylor Nemeth had 8 digs, Nessa Culver had 15 digs, and Olivia Tonkovich had 16 assists and 9 digs.

On Thursday, September 28, the junior varsity and varsity volleyball team hosted St. Clairsville. The junior varsity defeated the Red Devils 2-1. The varsity unfortunately fell in five sets, 20-25, 25-17, 16-25, 28-26, and 9-15. The Huskies were led by Trista Thompson with 10 kills and five digs, Lauren Doane with 11 kills and 11 digs, Madison Zeroski with 7 kills and 5 digs, Taylor Nemeth with 10 digs, Kennedy Dunlap with 11 digs, Nessa Culver with 14 digs, Leah Grady with six digs and 16 assists, and Olivia Tonkovich with 6 digs and 16 assists.

Homecoming Spirit Week began Monday, September 25. Students were encouraged to wear pink and dress like Barbie or Ken. Tuesday, they were encouraged to wear superhero gear.

4th Grade Field Trip!!!

  
  4th graders participated in the annual Environmental Day with a field trip! Students participated in six learning stations including Farm Animals, Animal By Products, Cookie Mining, Bird Feeders, Owls, and Rotational Grazing. Students will be writing informational essays next week about their experience. How fun!

All About Apples!

  
  Students in Mrs. Turner’s second grade class celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day! They sorted facts from tall tales, learned about his life, and conducted a science experiment! After learning about the states of matter, they tested whether apples can be turned into liquid using heat. They concluded that experiment by eating it! Students also had apple cider and apple butter, and are writing opinion essays about their favorite apple treats!
