Huskies Fall to the Redskins

   
 

 
   

On Friday, October 4, the Huskies traveled to Indian Creek. They ended up losing, with a final score of 46-14. The first touchdown the Huskies had was a passing touchdown scored by Michael Stock. The second touchdown was a rushing touchdown scored by Blake Atkins. Noah Thaxton had the extra points for both touchdowns.

Cross Country OVAC

   
 

 
   

On Saturday, October 5, the cross country team ran in the OVAC. For high school, Tyler Garbrandt got 101st place and Jasmine Garbrandt got 151st place. For junior high, Avalyn Sall got 115th place and Brody McCabe 71st place.

Girls’ Soccer vs. Indian Creek

   
   
   

The girls’ soccer team played against Indian Creek on Saturday, October 5. Unfortunately, the team lost 3-1.

Junior High Volleyball Tournament

   
 

 
   

On Saturday, October 5, the junior high volleyball teams began their tournament play. The 7th grade team played against St. Clairsville. They fell short in two sets with a score of 16-25 and 12-25. The 8th grade team played against Harding and they defeated them in three sets with a score of 14-25, 25-15, and 25-19.

Junior High Volleyball Wins Against Martins Ferry

   
 

 
   

On Monday, October 8, the 8th grade volleyball team went up against the Purple Riders of Martins Ferry for more tournament play. They won in three sets with scores of 19-25, 25-22 and 25-23.

On Monday, October 7, the volleyball team traveled to Barnesville. Junior Varsity took home a win in three sets with scores of; 21-25, 25-21, and 25-20. Unfortunately, the varsity fell in four sets with scores of; 27-25, 19-25, 23-25, and 23-25.

Girls’ Soccer Falls to Central

   
 

 
    The girls’ soccer team traveled to Wheeling Central on Monday, October 7. The girls were defeated with a final score of 9-1.    
   

Boys’ Soccer Defeats Minerva

   
 

 
   

On Tuesday, October 8, the boys’ soccer team played home against Minerva. They were victorious with a score of 6-2.

On Tuesday, October 8, the volleyball team traveled to Oak Glen for the OVAC consolation game. The junior varsity team lost 2-0; 12-25 and 16-25. The varsity team lost 3-0; 19-25; 18-25, and 14-25.

    The boys’ soccer team hosted Steubenville on Thursday, October 10. The boys were defeated with a final score of 2-0.    
   

Naval Academy Visit

   
 

 
    Rod Cole, Naval Academy recruiter, visited Mrs. Macenczak's Chemistry and Physics class. He spoke about the Academy as well as military life and the opportunities that are available to them if they select to go to Annapolis.

On Friday, September 27, the Huskies hosted the St. Clairsville Red Devils to Wagner Field for the battle of the Coal Bucket. The Huskies took the loss with a score of 41-0.

Volleyball Defeats Edison

   
 

 
   

On Saturday, September 28, junior varsity and varsity volleyball went against Edison and were victorious. Junior varsity won with a score of 2-0, with scores of 25-12, and 25-15, while varsity won with a score of 3-0, with scores of 25-8, 25-17, and 25-21.

On Saturday, September 28, the 7th grade traveled to Conotton Valley and they brought home a win against Conotton Valley in two sets with a score of 25-11 and 25-3.

Native American Artifacts

   
   

Buz and Linda Vargo further enhanced the 4th grade’s understanding of Native American culture by the display from Buz’s extravagant collection of arrowheads, arrows, skulls, animal bones, jewelry, and so much more. He enlightened the students about places that he has excavated to retrieve his relics.

We greatly appreciated Mr. and Mrs. Vargo spending time with us. We will always remember how you cared to share your prized collection.
