Football vs. Malvern

   
 

 
   

On Friday, September 6, the football team played Malvern at Wagner field. This night was also the alumni cheerleaders night, which welcomed back many cheerleaders. Unfortunately, the Huskies lost 38-28.

Cross Country Buckeye 8 Championships

   
 

 
   

On Saturday, September 7th the cross country team competed in Buckeye 8 championships with Varsity boys Tyler Garbrandt finishing 18th. Varsity girls Aubrie Moss finished 27th. Junior High boys Brody McCabe finished 10th. Junior High girls Avalyn Sall finished 16th.

On Saturday, September 7th the girls soccer team traveled to River View to go against the Black Bears. Vanessa Dowdle had a total of 24 saves the entire game but unfortunately got defeated with a finishing score of 9-0.

Volleyball Defeated Creek

   
 

 
   

On Monday, September 9, the volleyball team played Indian Creek. The varsity won in three sets with the score of 25-23, 25-25 and 25-14. Lauren Doane had eight kills and one solo block during the game. Junior varsity fell short to Creek with a score of 25-22, 25-19.

JH Volleyball Team Wins Against St. Clairsville

   
 

 
   

On Monday, September 9, the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams traveled to St. Clairsville to go up against the Red Devils. The 7th grade lost both of their sets. The eighth grade won quickly in 2 sets with a score of 25 - 16, 25 - 14.

On Monday September 9, the golf team traveled to Indian Creek. The match ended with scores of: Indian Creek with 177, Harrison Central with 187, and Steubenville Catholic Central with 204.

On Tuesday September 10, the golf team traveled to Edison. The match ended with scores of: Edison-180, Harrison Central-185, and Oak Glen-214.

Our girls soccer team defeated the Magnolia girls soccer team on Tuesday, September 10th. The team member of the game was Lilly Gibbons.

Volleyball Defeats Steubenville Big Red

   
 

 
   

On Tuesday, September 10th the volleyball team traveled to Steubenville Big Red and were victorious! Junior Varsity won 2-1, with scores of 18-25, 26-24, and 25-17. The varsity won 3-0, with scores of 26-24, 25-15, and 25-17. Lauren Doane recorded her 500th career kill as well!

On Wednesday, September 11th, the Junior High Football team traveled to Cambridge and came home with a big win of 44-0. Giving us our 6 touchdowns is, Kingston Smith with one touchdown, Mason Quito with two touchdowns, Colson Crothers with two touchdowns, and James Collins with one touchdown.

Boys’ Soccer Falls to Wheeling Central

   
 

 
    The boys’ soccer team traveled to Wheeling Central and unfortunately did not win. The final score was 2-0. Brady Mcafee has seven saves, and numerous players had shots on goal. Austin Fulton was named player of the match.

Boys’ Soccer Shuts Out East Liverpool

   
 

 
   

The boys soccer team battled against East Liverpool and took home a 4-0 win. The scorers that night were Cooper Thompson, Ocean Rodgers, and Brady Elliott. The player of the match was given to Kayden Dunkle for his performance. Brady Mcafee added 5 more saves to his climbing save record.

Career Fair Field Trip

   
 

 
   

The career Fair was held at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville. We had 35 students attending ranging from grades 10 to 12. There were many tables for the students to explore including jobs that required college and training and jobs that the students could enter into with no training. Some tables included Franciscan University, The Carpenters Union, The Ohio State Police, The Armed Forces, several beauty salons, Wheeling Bank, and Trinity Hospital. The students had an opportunity to win prizes by completing a passport by visiting the tables and meeting the various vendors. The event was sponsored by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.

Thurday, September 12, the 7th and 8th grade teams hosted Bellaire. The 7th grade won in two sets with the score being 25-14 and 25-17. The 8th grade team fell to Bellaire in 2 sets with the scores being 25-27 and 21-25.

On Thursday, September 12, the high school varsity and junior varsity traveled to Bellaire and came home with a win. The score was 3-2 with 5 sets. Set 1 25-21, set 2 23-25, set 3 26-16, set 4 23-25, set 5 21-19.

The boys’ soccer team went up against Beaver Local in a tough fight for the Buckeye 8 Championship. Unfortunately, they lost 5-0 and left with 2nd place. Brady McAfee added 7 saves to his save count. The junior varsity team played afterwards and tied 0-0.

On September 17, the junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams traveled to Edison. The junior varsity won 3-0 with scores of 22-25, 25-15, and 25-23. The varsity team won 3-0, with scores of 25-8, 25-9, and 25-14.

On Tuesday, September 17, the boys’ golf team participated in the 4A OVAC golf tournament. They finished in 8th place and were led by Nash Roberts. Nash shot an 85, finishing in 4th place overall and was named All-Conference for the second year in a row.

On the otherhand, 8th grade girls’ won opposed to Martins Ferry, 25-20 in the first set and 25-23 in the second set.
