The Harrison Central Guidance Office is dedicated to supporting the academic, personal, social, and career development of all students. Whether students are preparing for college, entering the workforce, exploring career paths, or needing personal support, our counselors are here to help every step of the way.

We provide services such as:

  • Academic advising and course planning

  • College Credit Plus (CCP) and career exploration

  • Transcript requests and scheduling assistance

  • Personal and social counseling

  • Internship and scholarship information

  • Support for post-secondary planning

Guidance Quick Links

  • To qualify for an academic letter, students must meet the following criteria:

    • Maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA or make the honor roll/principal’s list for the first three nine-week grading periods

    • No grade below a “C” during that time

    • Complete and submit 45 hours of documented community service for the school year (summer hours accepted)
      Deadline for submission: May 1st

  • This program offers students real-world career experience through internships aligned with their interests. Participants can gain valuable skills and insights while earning credit. Contact the guidance office or visit Career Exploration for more details.

  • College Credit Plus (CCP) allows eligible students to take college-level courses while still in high school, earning both high school and college credit. Information, applications, and eligibility requirements are available through the guidance office or click here to view online.

  • The Ohio Career Exploration Internship Program (OCEIP) provides structured internships for students. Visit the FAQ section to learn more about eligibility, application steps, expectations, and benefits.

  • OhioMeansJobs is a state resource offering career planning tools, resume builders, job search support, and more. It’s a great starting point for students exploring future career paths. Access OhioMeansJobs here.

  • PE Waiver Form
    Harrison Central allows students to waive the high school physical education requirement by participating in two full seasons of approved interscholastic activities, including athletics, marching band, or cheerleading. This waiver follows state guidelines and does not apply to non-school-sponsored activities or partial seasons. Students who complete the waiver are exempt from PE but must still earn 0.5 credit in another course to meet graduation requirements. Eligible activities include Baseball, Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Cheerleading, Football, Golf, Marching Band, Soccer, Softball, Track, Volleyball, and Wrestling.
    Forms must be fully completed and submitted to the guidance office after each season.

  • Schedule Change Request Form
    Students requesting a schedule change must complete the official Schedule Change Request Form. Changes are subject to course availability and must meet school policy guidelines. Forms are available in the guidance office or fill out the form electronically here.

     

  • Students or graduates needing a transcript must complete a Transcript Request Form. Requests should be submitted to the High School Office or online through Parchment, and additional documentation or processing time may be required.
