Our pep rallies are a fun way to bring students together, build school spirit, and get everyone excited to cheer on the Huskies! Each week, the classes compete to show who has the most energy and pride.
For the second week in a row, the sophomores brought the spirit and claimed the Pep Rally Spirit Stick! Can anyone stop the Class of 2029, or will they make it three in a row?

A huge thank-you to student and community volunteers who helped serve our neighbors at the food bank! Your time, hard work and willingness to help make a real difference in our community.
As a reminder, the food bank is held on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Please help us spread the word!

Senior Sunrise may have been rained out, but a little rain couldn’t dampen the excitement of our seniors’ first day! The Class of 2027 kicked off the year together and began the first of many special “lasts” they’ll experience as Harrison Central students.
Here’s to a memorable senior year filled with traditions, milestones, and plenty of Husky pride!

As part of Harrison Central’s graduation requirements, every senior must complete a service-learning project that gives back to the school or community. Seniors Mikayla Pelegreen, Amelia Puskarich, and Abigail O’Rourke are collecting chicken- and beef-flavored ramen noodles during the September 4 home football game against Strasburg. Monetary donations will also be accepted, with all contributions benefiting Blessings in a Backpack. Please consider supporting our seniors as they make a difference for local students and families! |

Mrs. McAfee’s second-grade class welcomed a few familiar faces for special read-alouds! Students loved reconnecting with some of their former teachers and sharing story time with them. What a sweet way to start the school year! |
Mrs. Soos’s first-grade students created special snow globes as gifts for their families to remember the first day of first grade! The project also became a hands-on science experiment as students tested whether their snow globes could hold water without leaking and explored which objects float. What a sweet way to combine learning with a special keepsake! |
Fifth grade can be a big transition, so students are starting the year by building connections and getting to know one another! Mrs. Solomon’s class created puzzle pieces filled with facts about themselves, while Mrs. Nign’s class made popcorn buckets featuring “kernels” of information about their personalities, interests, and lives.
These activities remind our fifth graders that everyone is unique—but we often have more in common than we realize!

Mrs. Turner’s class has been busy building friendships and practicing teamwork! Students enjoyed Jitter Juice and partner activities that helped them get to know their new classmates.
They also completed the “Save Sam” STEM challenge, working together and using only paper clips to return Sam to his life preserver and safely place him inside the boat. What a fun way to practice creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration!

Students in Mrs. Saffell’s fourth-grade science class are starting the year by learning about science safety and the tools scientists use to explore, investigate, and learn. These young scientists are building the skills they’ll need for a great year of discovery! |
Mrs. Sliva’s Catalyst Lab is off to a great start! Students spent the day exploring new ideas, collaborating with their classmates, and putting their creativity to work. We can’t wait to see where their curiosity takes them this year! |
Students in Mr. Bengier’s fourth-grade class are learning all about the great state of Ohio! From its history and geography to its symbols, landmarks, and people, students are discovering what makes the Buckeye State such a special place to call home. |
Harrison Central held its first campus-wide fire drill of the school year this past Thursday, and everyone did an excellent job! We were incredibly proud of our students for remaining calm, following directions, and taking the drill seriously.
Fire drills give our students and staff an important opportunity to practice exiting the building safely and quickly in the event of an emergency.
This is also a great time to talk with your child about fire safety at home. Does your family have a fire safety plan? Take a few minutes to review your exits, choose a safe meeting place, and make sure everyone knows what to do if a fire occurs.

Fraternal twins Kynlie and Rylie Terkoski are making a big difference by helping some of our littlest learners get on the bus each day! Their kindness, responsibility, and willingness to help earned them Good Citizenship Awards from Mr. Madzia.
We are proud of these two Huskies for setting such a wonderful example!

Don’t forget—the Harrison Central PTO’s first meeting of the school year is September 14! Families of students in preschool through sixth grade are invited to get involved, volunteer, and help with special projects throughout the year. While you’re at it, be sure to check out the PTO’s fundraiser featuring Harrison Central–branded tote bags—a cute way to show your Husky pride while supporting our students!

Mark your calendars and get ready for a full week of Homecoming fun! We hope to see our students, families, alumni, and community members come together for the Community Bonfire and cheer on the Huskies at the Homecoming game.
