On November 14, 2019, officials tasked with the abatement of
the former Cadiz High School and original Harrison Central High School, located
at 440 East Market Street in Cadiz, Ohio, located two time capsules behind the
cornerstones of the building. Both time
capsules are similar in appearance, small copper boxes soldered closed to
preserve the enclosed materials.
Officials from the Harrison Hills City School District will
be opening the time capsules at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the
Harrison Central High School main entrance.
All community residents and interested parties are welcome to attend
this historic event on the new campus of the school, located at 100 Huskies Way
in Cadiz.
The Harrison Hills City School District is in the process of abating former school buildings located in Cadiz, Hopedale, and Scio within the school district. Efforts are underway to preserve artifacts from the former schools and integrate the relics within the new campus of the recently opened Harrison Central High School.
