Harrison Central Jr./Sr. High School Huskies Fall to Malvern

  
 

 
  

Friday, September 1, the Huskies traveled to Malvern to go up against the Malvern Hornets. Unfortunately, the Huskies came up short, falling with a final score of 22-20.

Junior High Volleyball Falls to Claymont

  
 

 
  

On Saturday, August 2, Junior High, 7th and 8th grade volleyball, traveled to Claymont. Both 7th and 8th grade teams tried their best, but were unable to defeat Claymont. Unfortunately both 7th and 8th grade ended up losing 2-0.

Cross Country at Newcomerstown

  
 

 
  

On Saturday, September 2, the cross country team made their way to Newcomerstown, for the Newcomerstown Invite. Our top junior high runners were: Aubrie Moss who placed 27th and Bryce Sobleski who placed 45th. The top varsity runners were: Gretchin Dulkoski who placed 48th and Aiden Hays who placed 38th.

 Boys’ Soccer Victorious over Magnolia

  
 

 
  

The boys’ soccer team hosted Magnolia on Saturday, September 2. They ended with a victory of 1-0, with the only goal being scored by Brady Elliott.

Volleyball Falls to Indian Creek

  
 

 
  

Saturday, September 2, the volleyball team traveled to Indian Creek. The junior varsity was victorious 2-0, while the varsity fell 3-0. The Huskies were led by Lauren Doane with four blocks and four kills, Maddie Sedgmer with three blocks, Kennedy Dunlap with nine digs, and Olivia Tonkovich with seven digs and five assists.

Volleyball Falls to Barnesville

  
 

 
  

On Tuesday, September 5, junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams went up against Barnesville. The junior varsity team fell 2-1, while the varsity team fell 3-0. The varsity team was led by: Lauren Doane with five kills, Kennedy Dunlap with eight digs, Nessa Culver with six digs, and Leah Grady with five digs.

Junior High Huskies Battle at Barnesville

  
 

 
  

The junior high volleyball team traveled to Barnesville on Tuesday, September 5. The 7th grade fell short and lost in two sets, but the 8th grade won their match in a battle of 2 sets.

Boys’ Soccer Takes on the Jets

  
 

 
  

On Tuesday, September 5, the Harrison Central boys’ varsity soccer team traveled to Union Local for their 8th game of the season. The Huskies came out victorious with the score of 6-0. Brady Elliot and Cooper Thompson led all scorers with two goals each. Kayden Dunkle and Justin Scott also contributed with a goal each. Jaydis Yoho pinched a shutout at goalie with three saves.

Girls’ Soccer Hosts St. Clairsville

  
 

 
  

Tuesday, September 5, the Harrison Central Huskies went up against the St. Clairsville Red Devils. The Huskies were sadly defeated with a final score of 6-1, with Angi Ferri making the only goal for the Huskies. Vanessa Dowdle ended the night with 20 saves.

Golf Hosts Steubenville and Martins Ferry

  
 

 
  

On Tuesday, September 5, the varsity golf team hosted Steubenville and Martins Ferry. The Huskies came in second place out of the three teams, with Steubenville taking first place.

Cross Country Hosts Edison and Steubenville

  
 

 
  

On Wednesday, September 6, the cross country team hosted Edison and Steubenville. The meet began with junior high, where Aubrie Moss finished with a time of 16:41:28, and Bryce Sobleski at 16:31:45. The varsity team ran after, with our top finishers being: Gretchin Dulkoski at 28:33:71 and Tyler Garabrandt at 20:23:21.

On Wednesday, September 6, the junior high volleyball team went up against Shadyside. Both the 7th and 8th grade won with a final score of 2-0.

On Wednesday, September 6, the Harrison Central golf team won against Toronto and Indian Creek, with a final score of 193. The Huskies were led by Nash Roberts with a score of 42 and Kaily Banal with a score of 44.

Volleyball Falls to Beaver Local

  
 

 
  

 The volleyball team competed against Beaver Local on Thursday, September 7. The junior varsity lost in two sets. The varsity also lost, but fought to the end in all 3 sets, falling 25-19, 25-17, and 25-16.

Junior High Football Defeats Bellaire

  
 

 
   On Thursday, September 7, the junior high football team played against Bellaire. They were victorious with a score of 42-12, making them 3-0 on the season.  - Mykel Quito
