Huskies Talk Issue 1

  

Football Defeats Buckeye Trail

  
 

 
  

On Friday, August 25, the Huskies took on the Buckeye Trail Warriors and won 26 - 14. In the first quarter Mykel Quito took a handoff up the middle, from quarterback Hayden Cassidy, for a four yard touchdown, while Blake Atkins got a handoff for an 11 yard touchdown in the second quarter. Parker Hutton had a great first half, getting two interceptions, while Quito finished off the half with a 17 yard touchdown, finishing the night with three touchdowns. The Huskies are now 2-0.

Boys’ Soccer Victorious Over Falcons

  
 

 
  

On Saturday, August 26, the boys’ soccer team went up against the Fairless Falcons. The Huskies won with a score of 2-0, with goals by Hunter Fulton and Kayden Dunkle, and six saves by Jaydis Yoho. With this win, Harrison Central advanced their record to 1-2.

Junior High Football Defeats Buckeye Local

  
 

 
  

On Saturday, August 26, the junior high football team traveled to Buckeye Local. The Huskies defeated the Panthers with a final score of 22-6.

Volleyball Falls to Jets

  
 

 
  

On Monday, August 28, the junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams traveled to Union Local. Unfortunately, both teams were defeated. The junior varsity fell 2-0, and the varsity fell 3-0, with the scores being 25-11, 25-11, and 25-17.

Girls’ Soccer Falls to River View

  
 

 
  

On Monday, August 28, the girls’ soccer team competed against the River View Black Bears. The Huskies lost to the Black Bears with a score of 8-0. Angi Ferri had two shots on goal.

Golf Buckeye 8

  
 

 
  

On Tuesday, August 29, the golf team traveled to Belmont Hills to participate in the final round of the Buckeye 8 Tournament. The team finished second overall, with a score of 733. The team had two golfers receive Honorable Mention, Heath Clay and Nash Roberts. When asked about the tournament, Clay stated, “it was a hard loss to a very strong team.”

Boys’ Soccer Falls to Beaver Local

  
 

 
  

On Tuesday, August 29, the boys’ soccer team faced a tough match against Beaver Local, resulting in a disappointing score of 9-0. In the first half, the Huskies struggled to gain any points, while Beaver Local took the lead by 5 points. The second half did not bring much luck for the Huskies either, as they were unable to score any points, ultimately leading to Beaver Local’s victorious win. Brady Elliot had three saves, while Jaydis Yoho had 17 saves.

Junior High Volleyball Splits with Harding

  
 

 
  

On Tuesday, August 29, 7th and 8th grade volleyball traveled to Harding Middle School. The grade played outstanding and won both sets 25-16 and 25-13. Unfortunately, the 8th grade battled to the end, but fell short with scores of 26-24.

On Wednesday, August 30, the junior high football team hosted Edison. The Huskies were victorious with a final score of 20-0.

Cross Country at East Canton

  
 

 
  

On Wednesday, August 30, the cross country team traveled to East Canton. The four highest placers from both varsity and junior high boys and girls were, junior high: Aubrie Moss finishing with a time of 15:58:1 and Bryce Sobleski timing at 15:06:4, and varsity: Gretchin Dulkoski finished at 24:43:1 and Aiden Hays at 19:58:2.

Girls’ Soccer Defeated by Beaver Local

  
 

 
  

On Thursday, August 31, the girls’ soccer team went up against the Beavers of Beaver Local, but ended with an unfortunate loss of 5-1. Angi Ferri scored the last goal, and Vanessa Dowdle had 17 saves.

Boys’ Soccer Stomps Monroe Central

  
 

 
  

The boys’ soccer team traveled to Monroe Central on Thursday, August 31. The Huskies stomped Monroe Central with an end score of 8-1. The Huskies were led by Jaydis Yoho with two goals, while Justin Scott, Hunter Fulton, Brady Elliott, Tristian Cole, Cole Saiter, and Kayden Dunkle each scored one.

Golf at Speidel

  
 

 
  

The varsity golf team traveled to Oglebay Speidel Golf Course to play against John Marshall, Steubenville, and University. Unfortunately, the Huskies came home with the loss. Our top three golfers out of our six players were: Nash Roberts who shot an 81, Kaily Banal who shot a 91, and Heath Clay who shot a 92.
