| | Become Great Readers! | | |
| | Ms. Demas has been providing engaging phonological practice sessions to maintain attention and make learning fun! Through this hands-on practice, students were given a word, tapped each phoneme (sound) using play dough, identified beginning, middle, and ending phonemes and were given the task of adding, deleting, or substituting phonemes. Phonological awareness is an important skill for students to learn because it requires readers to notice how letters represent sounds. It primes readers for print and gives readers a way to approach sounding out and reading new words. | | |
