Huskies Talk Issue 23


8th Grade Boys’ Basketball Finishes Season



On Saturday, February 17, the 8th grade boys’ basketball team played Shadyside in the end of season tournament. Unfortunately, the game ended with a loss for us, with a score of 35-24, ending the season.

Boys’ Bowling District Tournament



On Thursday, February 22, the varsity boys’ bowling team traveled to Legacy Lanes in Cochocton to compete in the District Tournament. Unfortunately, the team ended their season. Individually though, Kobie Hennis wasthe D2 Individual District Runner-Up and qualified for the State Tournament.

Boys’ Basketball Falls to Devils



On Thursday, February 22, the boys’ basketball team hosted St. Clairsville. Unfortunately, both the junior varsity and varsity lost close ones to the Devils. The junior varsity lost 36-33, while the varsity team lost 91-88, in overtime. This was the last regular season game.

Fourth Grade Dissectors!

  Fourth graders are completing a lab on Owl Pellets. They discovered that owls cannot digest bones and fur and investigated the different small rodents that owls consume and identified them by their bones. How cool!

Positive Behavior!

  Shoutout to those students who were recognized for being responsible, respectful and ready to learn at school!  


Valentine’s Catch Up!

  Here are some more pictures from Valentine’s Day! Mrs. McAfee’s class made some awesome Valentines boxes and two students from Mrs. Turner’s room accidentally twinned!  


Fact Master!

  Raelynn Yoho from Mrs. Turner’s second grade class mastered her Mountain Sight Words! Great job!  


Book Fair Time!

  It’s the best time of year! The book fair will be open to students during their library class time from February 26th to March 1st and during Literacy Night on February 29th!  


Literacy Spirit Week!

  Students will be asked to dress up from the 26th of February to the 1st of March!  


Literacy Night!

  We are so excited to welcome families to Literacy Night! This event will be on Leap Day with food, fun, activities, giveaways and the Book Fair!  


Subtraction Bingo!

  Two second grade students played subtraction bingo with Miss Ray!
